The Ottendorfer Hütte proved to be a great choice for our group of friends. Hosts were were always ready to answer our questions and provide knowledgable recommendations, since our booking to moment of arrival. Our group of friends did not all know German and the staff was very friendly and helpful in communication in English. The location is beautiful, with stunning natural surroundings that provided a peaceful atmosphere, and the facilities itself are really uniquely designed and clean. Even if you don't come by car, you can move easy with bus to Saxon Switzerland park, and beautiful tracks if going by foot - the Ottendorfer Hütte even gives a bus pass for the duration of the stay which is practical. The breakfast served each morning was very filling. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a combination of relaxing experience and good tracks with a little bit of adventure. It is suitable for families with kids, as solo traveler and group of friends. Thank you Ottendorfer Hütte team!

An absolutely amazing place to stay! The hotel is surrounded by stunning nature — only about 20 minutes from the Bastei National Park and around 40 minutes from Dresden. The view from the property is simply breathtaking and makes you want to stay forever. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and very comfortable — a perfect place to relax after exploring the area. The whole atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, ideal for anyone looking to recharge and enjoy some quiet time in nature. The hotel restaurant is fantastic! The food is fresh, delicious, and prepared with great attention to detail. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and make you feel truly cared for from the moment you arrive. I can’t recommend this place highly enough — it’s a hidden gem where you instantly feel at home and leave with a smile.

Everything was wonderful: the view from the window, breakfast, the food in the restaurant, the proximity to the river and the mountains. The bed was separated from the rest of the room and far from the bathroom, that is very nice. My husband had his birthday during the stay and the hotel congratulated him with a nice gift. Everything from staff to the size of the room, location, wide selection of breakfast choices and local specialities, etc was perfect. Didn't expect that everything will be at such a high quality. Loved the view from the room and the little balcony, stunning location and the building itself full of history and charm. Although pool was a bit cold for the time of the year, the facilities were great and my partner still managed to enjoy a refreshing swim in the morning. Cosy spa too. Had a dinner booked at the restaurant one night and the service and meal was perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful place in Bad Schandau - I wish to be a guest in the future.

very friendly people, excellent accommodation with very good food. The location is quiet and peaceful, be aware that it is in the middle of the forest, so pay attention to the signs along the road.

The restaurant, terrace, common area of the hut are great! Super nice staff, pretty good food. A very pleasant place to stay when you're hiking. The sleeping areas (I booked a quadruple bedroom just for me alone) are very basic of course, but that what you're paying for. I cannot really compare it to other mountain huts, because I'm a luxury hiker, usually staying in hotels, but I must say that I can absolutely recommend this hut!
