The rooms were just the right size, the washrooms clean and very well fitted out! The staff was exceptionally enthusiastic and cooperative, and the breakfast and food otherwise left little to be desired! The cherry on top of the icing are the hosts, the very kind and friendly couple who run and operate this lovely facility!!

Away from the crazies. Beautiful scenery and lots of hiking trails. There were even cows with bells nearby serenading us. Great food there and staff was very nice and helpful.

I spent one night in DAS SCHÖNE LEBEN Hotel, and I really appreciated it! Travelling with my bicycle, I asked the staff to park it in a safe place, so they opened me the garage. Then, I chose to have dinner and tasted the delicious Black forest burger. All along, the staff was perfect. The room was spacious, clean, and with everything I needed for one night. The hotel is perfectly located near Hornberg, in the middle of the Black Forest. I definitely would have spent a few more nights to enjoy the sauna and the books.

Everything was really nice. The location was very beautiful surrounded by green fields and pastures and you could see the beautiful view from the balcony. The owner was very kind and the breakfast was very good and plentiful. The kitchen was fully equipped to make quick meals by oneself or to store stuff in the refrigerator.

Hornberg is quiet and easy to park with a bakery and...

Hornberg is quiet and easy to park with a bakery and supermarket and bars and restaurants. It’s a lovely small town with easy access to many footpaths. In particular people should climb up to the Schloss at the start of the week to get a great perspective of the whole town. I’d recommend that any visitors have a car(as we did), you can then travel easily within 30 mins to many beautiful places such as Gutach, Schiltach, Triberg. Also the Black Forest outdoor museum in Gutach is a ‘must go’ place for all visitors.

A lovely little town, few attractions for kids in the area, including summer glides, field with all senses, and few more attractions - as well as not too far from Triberg waterfalls and town and some more. Overall great for couple of days

Fantastic views, great food, and very friendly staff.

Fantastic views, great food, and very friendly staff. Large open-air pool in the town less than 2 km away from the hotel as well, which was free with vouchers from the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It's a good "hub" from which to make day trips.

It's a good "hub" from which to make day trips. There is a nice Kuckuckuhr (cookoo clock) store on the main road near the section called Niederwasser. There are forests in which to do some good hiking. Walking the older part of the towns in the area can be relaxing. Get an area map and research where to park your car. Small town parking can be tricky. Traveling by bus and train with a free Black Forest Pass while you are in the area can be beneficial - make sure train schedules are current. I will definitely come back to Hornberg/Niederwasser to Gaestehaus Ursula's Bed and Breakfast as my hub in the future.

The breakfast was good. The hotel was a little outdated. Bathroom was extremely small. It did not look like photo and was misrepresented. Area around toilet was super small. Room was small compared to photos.

Location was amazing, you could have visited the castle for free. The discounts applicable for transports and restaurants things around the village was also a plus. The Hotel was in the middle of the forest on a hill, amazing view. Facilities were great and the playground for children completed it all. I loved the atmosphere.

We booked a Deluxe Double Room and it was nice. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff really kind. Also, some parts of the hotel are refurbished and make it look more up to date.
