This is our fifth time staying at this hotel. We love it and it is our preferred choice when travelling through the area. Very clean and comfortable. Pet friendly. Staff always really helpful. We love that it has a restaurant on site and the food is exceptional. Breakfast likewise. Plenty of parking outside.

Convenient stop off en route to Austria.

Convenient stop off en route to Austria. Although on the main road, had a pretty river behind with walks straight into the forest. Wildlife amazing - beavers on the river bank came to be fed by the back door! Restaurant good, food tasty and reasonably priced. Generous portions, good quality. Breakfast also very good and opened early by request.

A relatively quiet location.

A relatively quiet location. It's very centrally located for quickly visiting the famous sandstone formations. Good dining options are available – however, there are no ATMs or other cash withdrawal facilities!

Ideal for starting longer hikes.

Ideal for starting longer hikes. Very interesting scenery in the surrounding area. Dahn, nearby, is also worth seeing. The Altdahn castles are simply fantastic. One downside to the region: the hiking trails are sometimes poorly marked. Even locals complain about this.

Because the accommodation is located 10 meters from the B10,...

Because the accommodation is located 10 meters from the B10, a road heavily trafficked by trucks, conversations outdoors (on the terrace) are only possible by speaking loudly. Similarly, sleeping in the rooms facing the street (4 out of 6) is only possible with the windows closed.

If you want to hike, the area is ideal.

If you want to hike, the area is ideal. From the train station, follow the road through the small industrial area in the valley to the inn, then continue straight ahead for a short distance on the paved bike path through the valley. You'll then see a signpost to the inn. Do not go along the B10. It's extremely dangerous.

Unfortunately, our stay was short and the weather wasn't good, so we only drove through. Hinterweidenthal has many pretty half-timbered houses and the area is beautiful; it's wonderful for hiking. It's highly recommended.

I've stayed in this hotel twice and would return again. The staff are friendly, the facilities are clean and the beds are comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast and found the portions generous and the staff accommodating and lovely. There's lots of space in the parking lot. If you find yourself in the area and are looking for a place to rest, I'd recommend the Landgasthaus am Frauenstein.

Straightforward hotel for a night's stay. It's quirky, which we like. Food in the evening was hearty, and breakfast was well above standard. Location is on our route and near the road, but the room was silent.

This is our fifth time in this beautiful apartment and our eighth time in Frauenstein over the years. Friendly staff. Good breakfast and food. Great location to walk to Hinterweidenthal and the devils table.
