Very clean rooms and the hotel in general was modern and very clean. Comfortable beds and the bathroom had lots of space. The breakfast was worldclass and the service level was very high. The location of the hotel is perfect. Perfect garage for our car and you can charge the electric car as well, even the garage is very clean. Just at perfect hotel and staff :)

The hotel is the outskirts of the town, on a hill at a 5 minutes drive from the city center, in a quiet neighbourhood. Our room was modern, quiet and spotlessly clean but what we loved most was the giga-enormous, tasty buffet breakfast in the morning which contained everything one might desire (both salty and sweet, which is not so common in Germany)

Great location at the middle of Goslar old town. You step out in to the Christmas market. The Christmas markets are open till 30-December, hence this turned out to be a great choice. Walking around the old town is seamless without any other dependencies. Plety of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel staff was reaching out to me early enough to give proper guidelines to reach the parking area and to avoid the traffic restrictions due to the christmas market. Goslar is a must visit place in Germany and Hotel Shiefer is a great place for stay. The complimentary and minimal (not really) breakfast offered is much better than the standard breakfast offered by many hotels. We had dinner in the restaurant below which also turned out to be great.

We got late due to traffic, but the reception waited for us to check in after closing time. Parking possible on the hotels yard, very convenient.

A lovely little town, though not very lively in November, especially after dark. Luckily, there is a fantastic local brewery producing an extraordinary beer brewed with salt and coriander — an absolute must for those quiet, gloomy evenings in Goslar!

Please do visit painfully pretty Goslar.

Please do visit painfully pretty Goslar. One day is enough to roam the streets and gasp at the beauty of the half-timbred homes. There's a Greek restaurant which I missed out. Tip: stay near the centre and in one of those older buildings for the full flavour experience

Goslar is a place we have returned again and again.

Goslar is a place we have returned again and again. The town is beautifully preserved with many wonderful halftimbered houses. The city hall and Kaiserpfalz in town are well worth visiting and Rammelsberg is a must see UNESCO world heritage site. Goslar is an excellent place to stay while hiking or cycling or just sightseeing through the Harz mountains.

Goslar is amazing.

Goslar is amazing. Mining history over 1000 years old, lots of churches from around 1100, a dames' convent, city walls, market place with ancient town hall (WC and Bratwurst takeaway next door, can't have it all). When medieval taxes used to be paid in victuals, the Kaisers roamed through the country to eat up the tithes, and Goslar has the Pfalz for that rebuilt in the 19th c. Pedestrianised with plenty of eateries. The countryside is even better, walking, langlauf skiing, pre-industrial heritage trails along the 120 lakes of the Harz mountains whose waterpower drove the silver mines' lift and ventilation system. The deadly inner German cold war border - barbed wire, dog runs, watchtowers - used to run through this area.

Goslar is an ancient city, part od UNESCO world heritage, so there are many interesting things and museums to isit. Also it's a starting point to explore the hills of Harz and even go to Göttingen or Braunschweig.

This imposingly large hotel is on the edge of the old part of town, facing the railway, not the best outlook, but actually it's so close to the Markplatz that didn't matter. My room was modern and clean. I was quite close to the stairs, which meant it was a bit noisy in the morning, but I needed to get up anyway. The breakfast was superb, and the staff were super friendly and competent. I was on a bike and there was a dedicated bike room activated by the room key, very handy.

Just about everything! Bright, clean, spacious flat equipped with anything you could need. Comfy sofa and bed. Perfect location just a few minutes walk from Goslar centre and Christmas markets. Easy check in with friendly welcome on arrival. Good base for visiting other towns in the National.Park. Will definitely stay again.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Parking at the hotel was well organised with an allocated parking space so you always knew you would find a space. The gentleman who worked reception and the bar made outstanding cocktails which were very reasonably priced.

Everything was great! Beutifully designed hotel, good location (15-20 min. walk to city center) . Also this part of town is beautiful, with the old houses in the same style. And ginger shot at breakfast was cute surprise 😉.

Great location for visiting Goslar. Parking very nearby. Anton was very easy to contact and was friendly. Clean and good facilities.
