It was so welcoming and inviting. Right when we walked inside, we felt at home. The layout was comfortable, the outside patio overlooking the canal was charming. Fantastic welcoming, professional, and helpful staff. We got a room upgrade for free (in the highest season, Christmas). Very comfortable beds, lights, big bathroom with a bath. Great breakfast, all possible options, and very fresh. The hotel was full of families, foreigners, and groups - everyone looked happy. I recommend this hotel to all Esslingen guests.

Betty and Iren - those who work morning and prepares breakfast were super kind, I have lots of good memories during our morning breakfast discussions. I have gotten so close with them that they offered me to leave my dirty laundry with them and they would clean them that night. I felt I was at home and the ladies were my sister and my mother. Of course, some gratuity would be nice for them as they have lots of work to do. Food was good, as expected from typical hotel, eggs are better when you get there early because they are still warm. Betty also offered to take me to the Esslingen train station and called taxi to drop me off, which are all services I did not expect from a small hotel. The location is close to Denkendorf so in the morning I walked across the field for about 15-20 minutes to get to work. I also love the drawings and artwork that hangs in between the hallways. No AC units, but you do not need it as there are fans and windows that you could open.

I arrived quite late and they were very ready to accommodate this. The breakfast was a traditional German breakfast with very fresh bread rolls, and most importantly, real coffee (which is becoming much less common with the proliferation of self-service coffee machines at hotels. The bar and restaurant are clearly used by locals. which is a good sign. (Staff and customers most friendly, though I had some slight communication difficulties following the local BW accent.
