I didn't expect 2 star hotel to be so clean and nice. Great customer service. We had late arrival, but it was organised perfect, had clear instructions, so our check-in was easy and straightforward. Had breakfast also, great choice for the price we've paid.

For the price it was the best accommodation I have ever been in. It was very clean, easy to check in. We were on our way home from the UK and it was the perfect place to spend a night. Great place to stay as the locals are very friendly and not your stereotypical Germans. They are Rhinelanders and therefore have a great sense of humour and very jovial party goer types. They fully understand “British Humour “ and many love Monty Python(I was surprised to find out)…Eschweiler is in easy reach of places to visit like Aachen, Stolberg and Monschau and cheaper than staying in those places. Also the Hurtgen forest is close by if you’re into WW2 history.

Eschweiler is a small city on the outskirts of Aachen, which is approximately a 10-minute drive away on the highway. There isn't actually that much to do here, I would recommend this place mainly for sleeping, because it is orders of magnitude cheaper than Aachen, but you can very conveniently reach the Aachen city center by bus or by car. There are some good restaurants, though, we ate in an Italian restaurant called Pizzeria Schwan, which offered delicious pasta and pizza at a reasonable price.

Since we were just passing through and only stayed overnight...

Since we were just passing through and only stayed overnight, we didn't see anything of Eschweiler. So we can't really comment on that. The Vietnamese restaurant around the corner where we ate had very tasty food.

The town center isn't very appealing.

The town center isn't very appealing. However, there's a good restaurant there, Cuma, where we ate on Sunday evening; it was recommended to us. The Free Evangelical Church in Eschweiler is worth a visit on Sundays! Nearby, about 5 km away, is Blausteinsee, a very nice local recreation area!

Beautiful location. Everything is new, bright, and modern. Rural surroundings, yet good transport links to Aachen and its attractions. Even a day trip through three countries was possible. The price-performance ratio was excellent.

Loved the location and the friendly family running this hotel. Rooms were light and clean, not necessarily modern but it offers what you need for a good stay. It felt very safe. Hotel serves breakfast for a reasonable price with a great selection! Very attentive owners despite knowing little English. They made us feel very welcomed and we will definitely go back.
