We've been on our way to Amsterdam, so this Hotel was a hidden gem for us: close to the highway, great hosts, free parking, and an excellent breakfast. We could also find a great restaurant nearby for dinner. The room is big and has everything you need, the TV is really huge so we could watch YouTube on it. Breakfast was excellent, the staff is really nice and welcoming.

The room was bigger than we were expecting and very clean. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English - they gave us a kettle to use when we asked as there isn't one in the bedroom. Although the reception is round the corner from the building we were in, it was clearly labelled and the staff helped us to find our way. There were some cute touches such as some sweets when we entered and complimentary drinks in the mini fridge.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent. The locals are friendly and helpful and the city centre has a wide variety of good shops, restaurants and pubs. We particularly liked Cafehaus Dobbelstein in Sonnenwall 8, the Hellas Greek Restaurant on Poststrasse and the Konig City pub in Dusseldorfer Strasse. The railway, Bus and tram stations are on the hotel’s doorstep and the staff in the nearby Tourist Information and travel ticket offices are extremely helpful.

Landschaft park is brilliant.. free and very interesting...

Landschaft park is brilliant.. free and very interesting...history of the blast furnace and you can climb all over it... Nice that they preserve such an historical site. A big shopping centre (Forum) with some really good places to eat. We are in Asia in the Forum... great value for money (19 eur for 2 meals) and another day we ate from the kebab shop opposite the Asia... Both times, excellent food and reasonably priced.

Lots of restaurants, they dont specifically cater from English speaking on the menus. I found a steakhouse and the food looked amazing, what I got was Ok and it filled the hole, the price was very reasonable. Not many bars, but nice to have a sit outside the many restaurants and have a drink. I went out around 8pm and came back around 10pm, it felt very safe in the centre, lots of older people around(70+), sitting, eating and drinking, which gave a good sign to me that this was a safe city.

I was only in Duisburg for the night but it had a large tourist information office by the main station which could of provided lots of potential attractions. There was an old town and plenty of bars and restaurants especially Arab and Turkish due to their large population within Duisburg.

Clearly a gritty post-industrial city but I liked that. We had a great Syrian meal nearby and it was a very interesting place. Great cycle infrastructure and I would have liked time to visit cultural attractions

The apartment where we stayed was not in the centre of...

The apartment where we stayed was not in the centre of Duisburg, we were in Auf Dem Damm. Absolutely nothing to do, two bar restaurants one closed at 20.00 and the other at 22.00. Other than that the last train from Duisburg Centre to our area stops one station short of our destination and had to get a taxi at an extra cost of 25 euros. Only by the kind action of an English speaking German man who phoned on our behalf did we get home safely. Duisburg is not a holiday destination.

A pretty much nice hotel in the heart of Duisburg. It's located quite close to U79 metro stations, therefore it's a nice choice if you are planning to come for Düsseldorf Messe show like Medica. Close to the hotel you will find a beautiful embankment, Rathaus and some other Duisburg Altstadt places of interest. Also, you can find a lot of shopping opportunities, restaurants and cafes in this district. A pretty much nice continental breakfast is offered for the hotel guests. A good modern hotel for a very reasonable price.

The beds here are SO comfortable! After a long journey it was exactly what I needed to recuperate - close to Duisburg HBF, nearby the park, lots of restaurants to choose from and the lady on the front desk even offered to move me from my reserved room to the first floor once she saw how tired I was. I also don't speak German, and had no troubles with that here. The room was perfectly clean and I had a private bathroom as well as television and desk to sit at. 10/10 would recommend!!

My wife and I were traveling by car across Germany and stopped here for 1 nights. Really appreciated that there was free parking right in front of the building – we arrived late and still found a spot. Self check-in was easy, instructions were clear, and everything in the apartment matched the description. The kitchen was functional and clean, and we made our own breakfast without any problems. The host replied quickly when we had a small question. Overall, very convenient
