Beautiful, quiet location. My (single) room had a balcony and mountain view. Reasonable price. Nice staff, and food in the restaurant was lovely too. Even though it's not in a town, quite reachable by public transport, with a bus stop in front of the building and the train station a short walk away. Bayrischzell is easy to reach through either.

Swimming pool and sauna/steam room was lovely. The gym isn't there any more having been replaced by a play area for kids - excellent soft play area, air hockey (free), mini-table tennis, basketball nets (fairground style), table football (free) etc Breakfast and dinner in the hotel was lovely.

The impression of calm you get when you first drive off the road, of the space around the hotel, and the views. Although we were there to ride the Deutsche Alpen Strasse we did a couple of local walks too. Incredible views all to the tune of the cow bells. Wann hören die Kühe auf zu läuten?

The location of the chalet is absolutely breathtaking & the views are out of this world. There is a hiking trail that starts right in front of the chalet. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils needed to cook a meal. We went as a family & I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to nature. And the best part was the host Sebastian, very accommodating & always ready to help. Big thumbs up to this property.

Fantastic place for a few days stop over on a road trip in Europe. Spacious rooms (with separate area to work if you need to), balcony facing the waterfall and Alpine pastures, great spa (swimming pool, saunas, inside and outside rest areas), delicious breakfast and great dinner (go for 5 course menu). Location is superb, with walking and driving routes and right on the German Alpenstrasse. A bit more expensive than few other similar places we stayed at during our 2 weeks trip, but worth it.

Very nice location in the middle of the mountains. Our stay was in winter and everything was beautifully snowed in. We spent our stay in the hotel spa but were surprised by the beauty of the town when we drove through it.

Bayrischzell is a small village, so everywhere was within easy walking distance. There were a number of places to eat in the evening. A leaflet was available, produced by the local tourist office, giving details of a range of walks, including to the summits of local mountains, through woods to neighbouring villages and by stream and rivers to waterfalls.

Perfect for cycling and hiking.

Perfect for cycling and hiking. Very quiet, thanks to a bypass. The village has four restaurants, three of which we tried and can recommend two (Alpenrose and Klosterhof zur Post). The beer garden only serves non-alcoholic drinks. This is something to be aware of and appreciate.

There's a great beer garden here – the spare ribs are absolutely sensational. It's a very beautiful village. You can go on fantastic hikes from there, and if you're really keen, you can even watch the filming for the TV series "Frühling" :). We'd come back just for the spare ribs.

We cannot understand the comments about breakfast or the food in the restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and very good, and the buffet was constantly replenished. We ate exclusively in the restaurant and beer garden every day of our stay; the food was always excellent and truly abundant. And the value for money was very good.

The area around Bayrischzell is beautifully landscaped,...

The area around Bayrischzell is beautifully landscaped, surrounded by mountains. Hiking and/or cycling are therefore excellent opportunities to appreciate the natural beauty. The hourly train connections to and from Munich are also convenient. So there are many excursion options in the surrounding area (Schliersee, Tegernsee, Wendelstein, etc.).

The hotel is so nice and cozy. I like that the owner is really attentive to details. The hotel has its own style. Everything is clean. I spent a lot of time in business trips and stayed in different hotels, so I appreciate things that makes my stay pleasant. The location is good too: supermarket, ski bus station are close to the hotel.
