We chose this accommodation to cycle in the Düben Heath and surrounding area. However, cycle paths are very scarce, not well signposted, and not very comfortable. From this perspective, the trip was disappointing. The accommodation itself was very good – everything we needed was there. We were allowed to store our bikes in the garage, there were lovely seating areas in the garden, and we received a very warm welcome.

Bad Schmiedeberg was a sea of blossoms at Easter, with a very beautiful spa park. The spa hotel has good food and friendly service, and the building itself, constructed in 1907, is a stunning Art Nouveau gem. The town is clean, but like many places these days, numerous shops are empty, making you feel a bit lost. There's hardly any choice of restaurants.

Bad Schmiedeberg is located directly on the Elbe River.

Bad Schmiedeberg is located directly on the Elbe River. The Elbe ferry wasn't running due to high water. But the location there is wonderful for relaxing. Otherwise, the town has a somewhat village-like character. Wittenberg is about 30 minutes away by car and well worth seeing. Leipzig is 60 minutes away by car—simply amazing, always worth a visit. We had a great meal at the "Weinstock" restaurant in the market square.

The small town mainly offers the castle with its beautiful park and a church. The rest is rather run-down and feels quite deserted in places. The food at the Park Hotel is recommended. The town is adequate for an afternoon/evening or as a base for cycling tours in the area.

Bad Schmiedeberg itself doesn't offer much that's new...

Bad Schmiedeberg itself doesn't offer much that's new compared to before. However, the spa park is beautifully designed, and everything within it is pleasingly arranged, so this lovely park alone compensates for much of what the otherwise pleasant town lacks. Unfortunately, we were only there for one evening while passing through; one should definitely treat oneself to more of it!

It was a second time we booked here as we really like this hotel when we do the road trip from the UK to Poland. The staff is always welcoming and the breakfast is amazing, such a wide variety and very tasty! We book the large room for 5 people and it realy is more like 2 large rooms connected to each other and 1 bathroom which is perfect. If you arrive late, they will leave the key in a safe box. We like the location too, it is very quiet. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for one night as we were travelling through Europe. The rooms were very clean and spacious, the staff was amazing. We were running late and they waited for us so we could check in which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast was delicious and wide selection available. We didn't have time to explore the area unfortunately but we highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel reminds of the atmosphere of the 80s: the furnishings in the room and in the dining room, old-fashioned reception desk. The overall impression of the hotel is positive - cleanly cleaned, prepared for overnight stay for one or more nights, the staff is friendly. The choice of dishes at breakfast could be a little better, but in general breakfast was not bad.

The hotel is older but from our point of view very comfortable and sufficient. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean (we stayed in the attic), the beds very comfortable. Dinner in the hotel restaurant excellent, breakfast as expected. Plenty of space for bicycles, proximity to the castle park and quiet location were a bonus.
