Great staff all around - we were in contact with three different receptionists, and all were just awesome. On the checkout day, we were offered an opportunity to have breakfast cooked for us earlier than usual because we were leaving before the breakfast opens. I've never experienced it anywhere else. Location is great - right at the city square where all fine dining is. The rooms are relatively basic (it is a historical building), but they are clean, serviced daily, and fresh water delivered every day, so you feel comfy and cozy. Breakfast included, and it is a nice breakfast - with fresh crepes, pies and pastry in addition to standard items. Very nice stay, will come back again.

The hotel was very new. Everything was very clean, stylish and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, as were the blankets and pillows. The shower gel and hand soap were of very high quality. The breakfast was rich and delicious. And the hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming.

The room was bigger than we expected. The beds were super comfy. We had a great view on to the street and the hotel was situated super close to the main station. Lots of restaurants in the area. The staff manning breakfast were wonderful and very welcoming. The breakfast had a couple of veggie options. The receptionist was welcoming. The hotel was calm.

The location of the hotel was amazing, because the hotel is in the down town close to everithing. The hotel has some own parking place, there are on the street, but staff is watching it by cameras. The staff was very helpful and nice. The hotel was beautiful, mainly the building and the covered inner courtyard. It was very nice and friendly. The room was very good, mainly the bathroom, that was very big. The hotel has own wellness, what is can use (include in the price). The breakfast was good and it was enough for us (warm and cold food, fruit etc.). I recommend everybody to spend some night in this hotel, when they are in the city.

It felt like an undiscovered gem with basically no other...

It felt like an undiscovered gem with basically no other North Americans that we met. The Museum of Northern Bohemia was really good as was a climb of the White Tower. There were lots of nice restaurant options and the folks at the information center spoke English well and were very helpful. The city parks are lovely, with interesting art and nice walks along the rivers. It was an easy day trip to other interesting sites such as Kutna Hora and Krkonoce Mountains.

This is a beautiful, quiet, old town with a lot of pubs and...

This is a beautiful, quiet, old town with a lot of pubs and restaurants for every taste. It is very pleasant to walk along the embankments of the two rivers that surround the city center. Or you can walk through the parks, which are also many in the city. I highly recommend climbing the White Tower and seeing the whole city from there. There is also an interesting museum there.

Bono Publico - a very big THANK-YOU, Bishop Library - another big THANK-YOU to Doctor Zdenek Zahradnicek for showing us the most valuable books - as old as from the 14th century (!), The White Tower, The Jan Pilnacek former soap factory rooftop sauna & whirlpool SAUNYX, the confluence of the Orlice and the Labe rivers, the wooden church of St Mikulas in Jirasek Park (bought in the 1930s and transported from Ruthinia), The Museum of Eastern Bohemia, the Gallery of Modern Arts... We love Hradec Kralove and we will surely be back! Alena Prošková & family

Beautiful "hidden" jewel which definitely wort a visit. Visit the castel-area near the cathedral with its lovely colorful old buildings perfectly restored. Go at least once to the "Bono Publico" staircase which connects the old upper part of the city to the lower one: the staircase (an empire monument) can play music, and before starting climbing the stairs up or down, you can choose from a panel your favourite classical "track". The upper part of the city is full of traditional restaurants, pubs, pastry-shops and cafés where you can get to know the "real" czech cuisine and atmosphere. Finally, take a walk in the very large and fantastic green areas near the rivers Elbe and Orlice: one of the parks hosts an ancient beautiful church made entirely of wood!

Underated jewel in the Czech republic.

Underated jewel in the Czech republic. Not crowded with tourists. University town with a young vibe. Very walkable. Well preserved historic center. The surrounding new town has a number of architectural gems. from the the late 1800s and early 20th century. Well worth a visit.

This town is a hidden gem.

This town is a hidden gem. I come up there a couple times a year for business and I really like the place. Beautiful old town, good restaurants, and something cool off the beaten path. By the way, everybody knows the Czech Republic has good beer but it has really great food as well.

There is a pool in the hotel, and it's open till 10 p.m. You can cool down there after a hot summer city trip. It was great experience for me and my family. The room I got was big, clean, with comfortable bed and there was even a fridge with a mini bar. There was quite some choice for a breakfast, with quite few gluten-free choices. Big thanks for that! The location is great, perfect for visiting the old town and city parks.

For reasonable price, well equipped hotel, right in the very city centre, with free gym, wi-fi and air-conditon (do not choose places without air-condition in the summer, unless they are in the rock bottom cellar). Cool breakfast with lot of extras. As cherry on top whirpool and sauna for only few euros. Personnel helpful and last but not least - the bath tub within own bathroom!

I am travelling to Hradec Kralove regularly for business and have tried many hotels. Okresni Dum is probably the best value for money. Pretty good location, nice interior with some of the largest hotel rooms in the city and very helpful staff. If you travel by car, this hotel has the largest private parking in comparison with other hotels in the city centre.
