I went to Protaras for work. I didn't like it. It is touristic and of poor quality in general. You don't feel like you are in Cyprus; it's just a resort. Many waiters and assistants in restaurants and stores are foreigners, and they don't speak a word of Greek!

This a very touristic place.
This a very touristic place. I was there 2 times, both in low season. In November the town is almost dead - no tourists, so, it is difficult to find a place to eat, but if you know where, it is a nice time to visit. The prices goes lower, beautiful beaches, nice hotels with spa. Highly recommend to visit in October-November.

An area that seems more British than Greek and sadly mostly closed up at the beginning of November apart from the pubs. The beaches are good with great swimming and snorkelling but extremely busy. Restaurants were generally disappointing although search hard and there are a few hidden taverns and coffee shops. Most buildings are concrete (not stone as in the villages, new build type), roads and transport links are good.

Great place for families or 30+ people.
Great place for families or 30+ people. It has plenty of good bars and restaurants but no under 30 craziness. You can get a drink at 2am but without any idiots. Never saw a drunk or out of control group in my 4 weeks there. If you want crazy go to Ayia Napa.
You want fun, friendly, beaches and a good evening life, go to Protaras.

Fantastic place, lots of bars, restaurants, good food,...
Fantastic place, lots of bars, restaurants, good food, lively bars and some slightly quieter. Sports on at some of the bars for football etc. Some tribute acts (although not my thing) Elvis, Cher, Meatloaf etc etc etc.
Jokers square had a live band on most nights playing rock music, great bar, great food also and a friendly welcome.
Cheers bar brilliant for drinks and breakfasts, owner very friendly and great staff, inside area (you'll need it during the hot days) and an outside area for evening with live entertainments on some times.
Lots of other bars we enjoyed but cannot remember the names sorry.
There is a small bar on the beach that serves drinks in real melon and pineapple shells called the rising beach bar which is brilliant for a drink after a day at the beach.
Also a place called Zorbas which does great food and drinks, well worth a visit (near Fig Tree Bay-ish)
The whole area from end-to-end is about 1 mile walk (maybe less) so no need for transport really, however taxis are very expensive if you need to use them (sore knee so we used them a few times) circa 10 euros for what was about a 1 mile journey!
You can jump on a bus to Ayia Napa if that's your thing, I don't know how much though, but they are quite frequent.
We loved the place, but we have been 7 times!!

During my visit, my favorite places were the beach and the main street. I dined at the restaurants located along the main street. Navigating around Protaras was very easy. As for my next visit, there's nothing I would specifically avoid.
The food, the staff, the premises, the view, the location, the hospitality, the pool with live shows, etc. It was just amazing, it made our honeymoon so special.
Also the theme dinner buffet nights are generous, tasty and come at a good price.
The location is super convenient, very close to the beach, as well as, to the Protaras main road where you can find very good restaurants and shops. There is also a supermarket and a pharmacy directly next to the hotel.
We highly recommend this place for any young couples or families with children.
We stayed in Maouris appartments from 12 till 23July! When you come ,first of all you are charmed by hospitality of Yiotis and Andri! From the first minute you feel like home! The pool is very nice and clean and the rooms, too! Mr .Maouris is very careful when the children are swimming! You are very close to the Fig tree beach,to the shops and to the main road! If you have some questions or need some information about Protaras everything is sold in no time!
Thank you Yiotis from all of us (Inga,Mariam,Haik and Van!)Love Cyprus!😍
An amazing place, we had been upgraded to a suite! It is clean, we had space and everything needed. The staff is welcoming and kind, they suggest to retrieve a lunch box before our late flight back and can give us advice for touristic tips. The hotel is near the beach, really near fig tree bay, supermarkets are opened late so we had never been stuck. Cyprus will be one of our best spot for summer holidays but most of all we will probably book again at Protaras AND at Alva hotels apartment :) thanks for everything!
The hotel is stunning and the facilities are excellent. Its location within Fig Tree Bay is perfect and only a 3 minute walk to the beach.
The staff are amazing and so attentive and the manager and another member of staff remembered us from our last stay which was a nice touch.
The all inclusive drinks and food are excellent and the choice is fantastic that everyone is catered for.
My son was visiting from the UK so I wanted to “show off” Cyprus and this was the perfect location to do it from.
The location of this hotel is really good, far enough out so it was quiet, with the walk into Protaras not being too long and was pleasant. Breakfast was really good. Lunchtime food in the restaurant at the seafront was also really good, however it seemed very disorganised. Evening meals were ok. Drinks menu was standard for all inclusive, however there was only a choice of 2 children's cocktails which was disappointing. The ladies cleaning the rooms were lovely and did a brilliant job.
One of the best apartments I ever stayed in! The balcony is really big, with amazing seaview, table tennis, sunbeds, a bar with TV, tables, chairs and a Hot tub which was amazing! The apartman is very well equiped with everything you could ask for and very spaceus. Every room has a private bathroom and access to the balcony. It is right in the center of Protaras, with a Best Buy Supermarket right below. About 1 minute walk from the beach.
We really enjoyed our trip the location was great.. our room was upgarded due to my bday to front sea view which was so lovely .. i stayed there on 12th till 15th ...i celebrated my bday there the hotel suprised us with wine and fuit :)
The staff are attentive .. the breakfast was great too
Many choices
In october the lift is not big deal..
We didn't we negative things honestly
Everything except what I wrote were great:
1) very good beds, solid and pleasant.
2) good towels, both in the bath and at the swimming pool.
3) good shampoos and bathing gel.
4) really great location, best in Protaras.
5) nice and friendly hotel stuff.
6) good breakfast.
7) very nice swimming pools at the hotel, both for adults and kids.
8) a desire to come again.
Great location. Awesome beach 2 mins walk from hotel. Lots of activities offered by hotel for free especially for kids. 10min drive to Protaras main center & 15mins drive to Aya Napa main center. Hotel is very family oriented. Staff is friendly & professional. I'd recommend renting a car from Larnaca Airport as public transportation is not very feasible in general.
One of the best hotels I've ever been in. I had an all inclusive sea view room in top floor which had a great view. Best thing in the hotel was massive garden, where time flew by. I was travelling on the first week of April, so there wasn't too many people. Sea was already warm enough for swimming, but I heard that swimming pool was heated 28 degrees.
Liked the WhatsApp from Victoria (MyExclusivevillas) a couple of days before arrival saying she was there to help when we arrived (great directions by the way) The villa was big, comfortable and well equipped - a five minute stroll to Protaras strip / ten to the main beach. Nice welcome pack of tea / coffee / milk / wine etc!
Iliada Beach Hotel is an old hotel with renovated rooms that offers exceptional value for money. Its prime location on a stunning beach allows for a fantastic swimming experience. I found myself enjoying the beach three times a day.Love walking on the coastal pedestrian road of Protaras in the afternoon
The location of Sunrise Bay Villas is excellent. A few steps to the best beach in Cyprus, Fig Tree Bay and the main strip of Protaras. The service from La Mer was outstanding. We would recommend 100% and will be rebooking with this company, we have already looked at their villas for 2024.
The breakfast was amazing! The Italian restaurant located in the hotel had many choices on their menu, and was very tasty from the appetizers up to main course to desserts. The location was ideal as it was right outside Protaras, so going to either Ayia Napa or Protaras was very easy.
I really liked the location of the hotel and its amenities. I enjoyed the Bikini Bar located right on the beach. I also liked the room size. This hotel is truly located right on the best beach of Protaras. So I would definitely recommend.
Great location to get around Protaras, the staff where all lovely and very helpful. The hotel was clean and had great facilities. Everything we needed for a lovely stay in Protaras whilst we were in Cyprus.
Great location and great price. In between Protaras and Ayia Napa and directly opposite one of the best beaches in Cyprus. We return here many times, it offers good value for money.
The hotel is very nice, location was great next to the beach, the pool is very nice and the staff was very helpful. Location is also very close to everything in Protaras.
