This wonderfully atmospheric historic hotel sits tucked away in a picturesque forest, and stepping inside feels like traveling back to the mid-20th century. There’s even an original menu from 1944 framed on the wall—such a charming touch. The lobby is incredibly cozy, complete with a fireplace and excellent cocktails, and the veranda bar is absolutely stunning. Breakfast is served in a beautiful restaurant that perfectly complements the hotel’s character. Our room was simple but very comfortable, featuring two balconies. The bathroom looked like it came straight out of a high-end European design catalog—everything modern, sleek, and top-quality. The staff were warm, attentive, and even helped us out with toothbrushes when we needed them. I would gladly stay here again!

Platres is a lovely village, any time of the year. We enjoyed a weekend of sunshine, warm days and autumn colours! This little house is a treasure: fantastic location, clean, and comfortable. It is a blend of traditional Cypriot design on the outside, and chic modern on the inside. Everything looks new and the decor is beautiful! The host provided warm, cozy blankets, plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. There is a Nespresso machine and electric kettle, but guests need to bring their own coffee and tea. We certainly would recommend this place, and would be happy to return!

There were all kinds of sport facilities: basketball,...

There were all kinds of sport facilities: basketball, football, ping pong etc, and the most popular hiking trails in Troodos are close by car. Since there was a problem with the electricity when we arrived, we had the opportunity to try both the small house and apartment type accommodations. You can have more privacy with a house, as it has an own kitchen, but the rooms are much smaller and the wifi signal was very weak, practically none. The apartment was much more spacious, but if you want to cook, you need to use a shared kitchen. There was even netflix in the apartment that was missing in the house and unlike in the house, the wifi worked properly. You need to have whatsapp on your mobile, as you get check in info by whatsapp. They have a phone number and they were responsive, could communicate in English.

I was expecting more people in Platres during the summer...

I was expecting more people in Platres during the summer month of may but unfortunately the place looked deserted. Very few restaurants were open to have lunch and dinner, and sometimes the quality was very avarage. I would not recomment visiting Platres in July, perhaps August will be much better when local people take their holidays.

Liked: the service, the food, the breakfast, the politeness of the people working there. Even though is renovated the feeling of the rooms is a bit outdated. The wc/shower room is very small The shower is very narrow and uncomfortable. Also there could be some arrangement for wardrobe. The price of the room is overestimated. BUT we keep choosing Petit Palais every time we choose Platres.

Platres is one of my favourite mountain villages in Cyprus.

Platres is one of my favourite mountain villages in Cyprus. it has a lovely vibe and many restaurants and cafes to choose from. I recommend Pendeli Hotel for a luxurious stay or forest park if looking for a very budget friendly stay. Petit Palais is one of the oldest hotels in the square and is loved by locals and tourists. EnPlatron is one of my favourite Taverns offering great traditional dishes and live music on weekends. Kaledonia Tavern is also a favourite local tavern so make sure to give it a try Cleopatra Bistro is a favourite for modern dining and deserts and beverages. Beautiful and modern decor if looking for yummy fast food try I Sitzia Tou Mavrou for a delicious Gyros

Able to do several walks from hotel.

Able to do several walks from hotel. Needs a bit of tidying up but a charming place to stay. Evening meals were hard to find, had two meals away from hotel, very poor could not eat much of it. Hotel good good but limited choice.

It was a really special, quiet wee place, with excellent access to all the trails in the Troodos hills. A 15 minute drive from kakopetria where there is more options for food and supermarkets; however, the eateries available in Platres were all found to be serving up wonderful local cuisine (their opening times are just a little hit and miss, so if you are not eating early, you may struggle).

Pendeli Resort in Platres is a beautiful and peaceful retreat surrounded by pine forests. The rooms are clean, cozy, and many have stunning mountain views. The resort offers excellent facilities; a lovely pool, relaxing spa, gym, and a restaurant serving delicious local and international dishes, and rich buffets. The staff are warm, professional, and always happy to help. Just a short walk from Platres village, it’s the ideal place to unwind and enjoy authentic Cypriot hospitality. Highly recommended!

The location was good, in the centre of Pano Platres although there is a disused hotel next door which was the only thing that I could see from my bedroom window. The breakfast was also good, delicious and well prepared by helpful and professional staff. However, there was only an automatic coffee machine so, no real cappuccinos.

We liked absolutely every thing about this hotel. Very unique. Such wonderful in every detail. We sat out on the verandah sipping our drinks and soaked up the pine smelling surroundings. Pity we are only here for one night. Next time longer. I highly recommend this place.

This was our third visit to Forest Park for my partners birthday. The location is exceptional, our room was perfect, breakfast and dinner very good with a varied menu. We understand the hotel will be refurbished at some point but we hope it will retain its charm.
