Authentic village life at its best! Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

We had a fabulous three days stay here. The rooms were very comfortable with lovely views from the balconies. we enjoyed walking in the surrounding hills. We had excellent massage on site. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant is excellent with a delicious buffet supper and a pleasant breakfast.

This was a very comfortable accommodation situated in a picturesque location. The place is big and the view from the terrace is superb. We stayed for 5 nights and felt much at ease. Communication with the host was perfect, and they were very helpful and accommodating. If you have a car you can get from here to many of the island's hiking spots quite quickly. We'd certainly stay here again.

The owners are so friendly, the house has a very chill vibe and a beautiful swimming pool, great breakfast! The house is not in the city center but thats actually quite nice since its very peaceful and the owner offers you to ride you to beautiful places. Highly recommend this place.

Very nice place to stay. Safe, clean, with running water and working electricity and Internet. There’s also private parking available. Basic breakfast is included and makes a good start of the day. The location is convenient for the mountain walks. We hired a car and used as a base to explore all the island. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The last kilometres of the road after leaving the main road is not asphalted but it’s wide and in very good condition . The view of the mountains around is very nice. Due to the mountains location the temperature is cooler than at the seaside which make the sleeping much more pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here and would come back.

The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. The lady was so sweet and let me keep the room the next day until I went to the airport without my even asking. It was in a good location for the hike I wanted. Comfortable, safe and good value for money. They also organised a cheaper airport taxi. Very responsive to messages. Thanks again for the great stay
