An unbelevable little oasis in the village at the bottom of the Paul Valley. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the room was very neat and comfortable. Breakfast was served at the rooftop with a beautiful view. This is the perfect place to stay at Santo Antao.

I had a great time at Kasa d'Vizin. The hotel is greatly located, surrounded by beautiful nature and a terrasse that gives you the feeling that you are in the middle of it. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Also the host was very helpful, kind and gave it a personal touch. The food was amazing, for a very fair price I got a three meal course that tasted awesome. Location is flawless - on a quiet street, but just off the main road. Aluguars stop virtually opposite the property and are very frequent, both going up the Paul Valley and along the coastal road. There is a little mini market just around the corner, open until 20:00. The owner is super - helpful and able to advise on all the best walks in the area. He suggested a much better walk than the one we initially wanted to do; he had maps and suggested places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The kitchen area is really nice, half al-fresco. All the staff were lovely and kind and very helpful. The internet works fine - there are 2 networks to choose from. I was also very grateful to have access to a guest fridge in the kitchen area. We regretted cancelling one of the 2 nights we'd initially wanted to stay and only staying 1. For bonus points, there is also a little 8-week-old puppy :)

Excellent location, with a beautiful landscape, immersed in nature. Upon inquiring about transport from Porto Novo (where the ferry takes you) to the accommodation, the Casa das Ilhas staff kindly arranged an aluguer (minibus and main public transport in the island) that took us all the way to the accommodation. As there is no drivable road access from the road to the accommodation, the staff has also provided someone who helped us out with the luggage. The accommodation is located in the most beautiful place, overlooking the valley. The wifi worked fine. The breakfast and other optional meals were in group with the rest of the travellers. You can arrange the breakfast time though. Casa das Ilhas provided dinner (approximately 12€): you can ask vegan or vegetarian. I am vegan and my friend is vegetarian and the food was great and plenty. They do a different dish every time but you won't be choosing from a menu. It is what they give you and it is mostly done with locally produced products. Absolutely recommend. It includes drink, main and dessert. Although I think the dinners were a bit pricy for the local prices, it is absolutely worth it, especially as the accommodation is located in a remote place, it can be quite useful to have dinner in Casa das Ilhas as it can be quite of a walk to the next restaurant. There are snacks, drinks and coffee that you can take whenever you wish to, note it down and pay in the end. The staff was very useful providing information and maps of the different hikes that can be done in Santo Antao. The outdoors space is good for socialising, whilst enjoying the magnificent landscape. I really recommend Casa das Ilhas!

The staff was really nice and Judith helped out in organising a taxi from Porto Novo to the hotel, including an amazing tour through the island. Also we had a great time with Ivone who prepared very nice vegan breakfast. The hotel has a great terrace with a stunning view and the location is very nice.

Lovely small town by the coast close to mountain trails. We stayed 5 nights but would have happily stayed another couple of nights. Good restaurants in town including an authentic Italian place run by an Italian and serving home-made pasta with tables on his terrace. He has a wonderful model town, that he has made himself, on display for you to look at while waiting to order. Casa Maracuja served good local cuisine and we also enjoyed the food at Paladar where they serve cachupa. We had a rental car, but there were also alughers available for transport to Porto Novo, the ferry port.
