Beautiful place created with love and imagination. Wonderful family enterprise. Kindness and consideration Great food from Raffi catered to our diets tho don’t know how usual that will be. Hacienda Norma has recently opened and it’s a joy to have been among the first guests. They supported my friend to get over her fear of riding and riding into the mountains and learning about nature was lovely. The horses are well loved and trained by Wilbur. There are over 300 acres of conservation with a couple of puma families it’s believed. Guarvil, family and co workers are creating something beautiful and unique. We welcomed the green and shade in the hot days, the terrace and the infinity pool.

The place looked very nice. The owner put a lot of time into this bus, and it worked out super well! The fact that you sleep in a bus is super funny. The terrace he built in front of the bus is super handy for breakfast or dinner, which you can prepare in the kitchen. There's a roof above the bus, so the bus is standing in the shade and this really helps with the warmth, you can choose to open the windows or use the airco if it gets to hot. Playa negra is the closest beach, you could also go to Playa avellanas, which is only a 10min drive.

The place is beautiful, has nice and clean apartments with amazing breakfast served. We spent a lot of time in the pool, watching the hummingbirds of the garden. The owners are super nice and helpful!

We loved our stay at Mikado Lodge! It is an incredible property in the middle of the jungle. The room and deck were lovely as you feel like you are in the tree canopy with the sounds of howler monkeys, cicadas, and views of deer and so many species of birds. Bring your binoculars! We enjoyed the pool time, the little trail on site, and the troup of monkeys that came swinging through the trees through in the morning. Aside from the beauty of the nature, everything is just so polished and well-taken care of. It is clear that a lot of thought and time has gone into the design and care of this boutique hotel. The owner, Lolo, was a gracious and accommodating host. She whipped up some delicious meals and was so sweet with our one year old. Playa Avellana is close by so you can go from jungle to beach in about 15 minutes! We would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely everything, the hosts were so friendly, the room was clean and spacious, we enjoyed the swimming pool and garden areas. Breakfast was gorgeous, One of the best places we stayed in Costa Rica... wait... the best place.

The owners of the house were so friendly and always smiling. With a rental car, their location was amazing for us ( I cannot advise how it would have been without the car ). Very easy check-in and check-out. The room was like a small apartment: very big, a lot of light, a small fridge, spotless both the room and the bathroom ( nice shampoo, conditioner and soap ). Delicious breakfast prepared freshly by the hosts. The pool was amazing, clean and we could use it late in the evening for relaxation. I hope we will be back soon!

Perfect relaxation. The couple who own it live next door but leave you to it. They are always available for advice of the nearby area or anything else you may need. Perfect if you have a car. We didn’t have a car but was able to walk to the nearest supermarket and cook at the property.
