We stayed at ballena rey hotel for 2 nights. It is the best hotel we have ever stayed at during our trip in Costa Rica. WiFi and parking are free, and this hotel also features a beatifull swimming pool with a waterfall. Gilberto is an amazing and lovely host. He is really helpful and funny. We needed to do our laundry and he arranged to do it without any problems. We are highly grateful for that. The apartment is brand new and has modern design and the matress is really comfortable... we slept very well. It is totally worth it! We highly recommend it if you want to stay at modern and clean place and be surrounded also by lovely people.

We loved our stay at the hotel! First of all, the design of the hotel is beautiful, not only the overall buildings, but also the details. Also, the service was very good, including the check-in process, the breakfast and the room service. We always felt very welcome thanks to the friendly staff. Lastly, the hotel is secure, with the front door being locked all day, and the beach and some restaurants can be reached by walking.

Lovely sized comfortable room and beds, with a little patio area out the back to relax on and a walk in wardrobe in the room which was really helpful to hang wet towels in and store our bags. Quiet and felt very safe. Lovely pool and a large kitchen / communal sitting area which was really comfortable and had everything we needed to prepare a good breakfast and coffee. We had a great stay.

Excellent service here - good communication by what’s app beforehand and also help with booking tours (we did the whale watching). We were able to check into our rooms when we arrived at 1pm, even though check in was technically 3pm. Rooms are very comfortable with good aircon and nice balconies. Pool and jacuzzi facilities are wonderful. Very laid back place and great value.

This is the perfect place to stay in Uvita. Walking distance to the national park's beach (the best one around) and restaurants. A very short drive (few minutes) to many other restaurants, shops etc. With private, very secure parking. The cabinas are very comfy and had everything we needed. It's just 3 of them there, so it's pretty intimate. All the amenities worked great, including AC. Theres a very nice pool and you're surrounded by tropical plants and birds. And of top of that Scott is a very welcoming and super helpful host. Tip: trips booked by him are cheaper than when do it online in the same agencies. Lovely place, 10/10. Thanks Scott!

This place is not just about the stunning views, the italian owners Francesca and Luca and their two dogs will make you feel like you are part of their family. Breakfasts (there is a italian restaurant too) are freshly made and you won't be able to eat it all. In the room is comfortable large bed, shower with view on the ocean, fridge and a Coffee maker. Warnning: don't stay there if you dont want to see the birds in the morning, feel the moonlight at night and sleep where the ocean sing its song.

Our stay was faultless. The staff were always available, friendly and professional as well as very knowledgable. The entire hotel, the rooms and the grounds were stunning, there is even a trail you can follow to spot wildlife. The restaurant and bar were brilliant, with exceptional food.

I liked Uvita. We were short time and it was not good. Uvita has beautiful and clean beaches! Sunset on the beach was amazing! There are many different types of birds and animals in Marino Ballena National Park.

Hermosa Beach is beautiful.

Hermosa Beach is beautiful. You have to pay a small entrance fee, but it’s clean and you can walk to the whales tail. There are bars and restaurants to walk to with a good choice of cuisine. Plenty of supermarkets and fruit shops.

Preferably visit on the whale watching season, and reserve a tour days before so you not lose the chance of this lovely experience, I recommend Bahía Ballena Kayaks & Tours. Beach is beautiful and relaxing, check the tide hours son you can walk to Whale's tale in low tide, and also have like 200 meters of beach to enjoy

Uvita is a great spot for families, not as crowded as Dominical, with plenty of good places to eat. However, some restaurants can be pricey and not worth it. The sea had strong currents, making it dangerous, but there was still plenty of space on the beach

My stay in Uvita was wonderful because it was October and very quiet. I was lucky to have no rain most days and explored all around the area. I loved playa Hermosa and Bahia Ballena. Both places you can walk see endless beach that's almost all to yourself during the fall.

I went to Uvita in Sep because I wanted to see the whale.

I went to Uvita in Sep because I wanted to see the whale. While some other boats did, we didn't get that close to the whale, so the experience was not ideal for me. However, it is an excellent place for surfing, and the tide is perfect.

The Kura Boutique Hotel was no less than incredible in every way. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and loved well before we arrived. Each time that we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the staff by name and with refreshments. All meals were superb. The view is unparalleled. I will repeat the that staff truly cared about every moment of our experience and did everything they could to improve our time in Uvita.

One of the best places we stayed in Costa Rica, and for a very reasonable price. Everything was clean, with hot water available. The host family was super nice — the young owner was very kind and always around whenever we needed help. You can observe many kinds of birds on their property; almost every day a pair of large red guacamayo parrots came to have their snack in the big tree at the entrance. We truly felt at home. Highly recommended!

Firstly, this is not a serviced room, more Airbnb style. That said, cabanas are beautifully set up and well equipped. Bed was super comfy. They are very clean and the pool and rancho are lovely. Especially the night time lighting 😜 Mike, the owner, knows all the best beaches, waterfalls and restaurants and is a great host. Close to the centre of Uvita but away from the hussle and bussle. We will definitely be back.

No sound proofing, so you heard every single truck and car go by, even though we had the room on the opposite side of the road. The owner was great and very accommodating. Breakfast was also good. The hotel is for sale and you can tell it needs some work. If you are a hard sleeper you won't have too many issues otherwise bring ear plugs. Good for one night's stay.

It was really comfortable and besides sleeping in a dorm it felt like staying in a luxury hotel. Everything was really clean and the kitchen was okay too. There was free yoga class!
