Beautiful refurbished room with comfy beds ( including a quilt), large hot and cold power shower with lovely wash products provided. Excellent ac and lighting Very accomodating and helpful check-in staff - they even washed our hire car for free before we returned it! Could hear the sea from the room and the local howler monkeys. Great location on the beach and delicious food. Be sure to check out happy hour at 4pm :-) , it's an expensive area, so you may want to make the most of these offers!

The staff were so amazing! They totally go out of their way to make sure you are happy and have everything you need! They upgraded us to an ocean front suite for free as soon as we arrived. The location is amazing, right on the beach to enjoy the beautiful water of Playa Hermosa. There are a couple of restaurants and shops just up the street. The atmosphere is so calm and peaceful. Truly pura vida. Thank you so much to the staff for all your hard work and for taking care of us during our time there! It was a wonderful last couple days to relax before heading home.

This place is Costa Rica in miniature. Howler monkeys dropping fruit from the trees, birds everywhere and a beautiful bay just one minute walk away. We stayed at Hotel Velero right off the beach in Playa Hermosa. It was relatively quiet (in the best way!) compared to the neighboring Playa del Coco. The beach was clean, the sand was soft, and the temperature was great. We saw dolphins and great sea birds from breakfast at Hotel Velero. We also had dinner at Roberto's and La Casita del Marisco. I would highly recommend Playa Hermosa to everyone and would love to return!

Hermosa is about 30 minutes from the Liberia airport. This is a less visited beach so you don't have the crowds of others. However, there is everything you need within walking distance. La Casita del Marisco is our favorite sunset dinner spot in Costa Rica. We have stayed in Hermosa since 2016 (we lived in Monteverde for 5 years) and usually stay at Hotel El Velero on the beach. We use Hotel Mangaby as a backup, only a short walk to beach.

It is a nice small area to stay. Not too touristy. The beach was incredible. Attended a wedding at Cafe Marisco, ate at Ginger. It was fun, pricey. Wonderful whole red snapper at Roberto's. Meals and drink, atmosphere at our hotel, El Velero were great. Beach walking, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and taking a sunset catamaran tour we're the highlights.

I like Playa Hermosa because the beach is beautiful and...

I like Playa Hermosa because the beach is beautiful and great to walk along in the morning. The restaurants are plenty with live entertainment on certain nights. Lots of seafood on the menu. You can take a bus to Playa Coco but it is hard to know when exactly the bus is coming as schedule is here-say. Only costs 1.00 USD. I ate at Robertos , El Velero restaurant and Pescados. It is a walkable beach town.

The beach was hopping.

The beach was hopping. There was a wedding at one of the restaurants, so very lively. We enjoyed the beauty of the beach and it only got better when it got dark. We had a very expensive but bland margarita and dinner on the beach. However, the view of the beach was spectacular.

Nice, relatively non-busy beach, with some great restaurants nearby. We really enjoyed Ginger for delicious and unique food. We had a great snorkeling and sunset sailing trip. I’d recommend this beach to singles, couples and families.

Great stay at T Loft. Modern, clean and well-equipped (kitchen, AC, Wi-Fi), with attentive hosts and easy check-in. Perfect location to explore Playa Panamá, Playas del Coco, Playa Calzón de Pobre and enjoy a fishing trip. The loft is close to the mangrove, so you can hear wildlife like birds and monkeys, which makes the experience feel authentic. Still, the highlight is Playa Hermosa — quiet, beautiful, soft sand and spectacular sunsets. Highly recommended.”

Good location, nice pool area, lunch/dinner buffet was very delicious. Supermarket and local pizza spot right next door. Beach 5min away. Despite my many critiques, I guess it does have a good value cause it's the cheapest option I found in the area.
