Perfect way to settle into my Costa Rican stay! Lovely spot & perfect view of the beach! The room was lovely overlooking the pool. Had a nice swim in the pool which I needed after my long travel. The breakfast offered was super yummy and they adjusted it to no meat for me. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make my trip the most enjoyable and gave me advice for transport and local areas. It was a pleasure to stay here and I will definitely stay here again!

A slightly absurd but totally pleasant place to stay. The hay-days of this sister-establishment of that Caribbean hotel from the Godfather movies are, however, long gone. There is maybe even a casino (advertised but not seen). There certainly is a lovely pool on a desolate roof but it seemed to be out of hours. Checking in, you get a festival-like bracelet which is most annoying and entirely unnecessary. We ripped ours off which ever so slightly disgruntled the otherwise helpful and correct reception guy. The queen beds are HUGE, as in much broader than long. AC works. The antiquated feel of the whole place is more pronounced in the bathroom where a 30cm shower cabin threshold makes for one of many interesting interior design solutions some of which weren’t cool even back in the 1970s. This is, however, not a bad place to stay at all. Rooms are nice and clean. There is a supervised parking and 24h reception and the ferries of Puntarenas are at 75 m which makes this. Perfect stop for those early ferry departures.
