We can highly recommend staying at Sabalo Lodge. Anouk and Kevin were amazing hosts and we felt always very welcomed and taken care of. Breakfast and Dinner were great, Kevin is a great chef and especially his tuna tartar and beef were amazing. The surrounding is wonderful - jungle life a lots of animals and we took the chance to use the canoes they provide for free. We didn't need to take care about bookings for sightseeing. Anouk and Kevin arranged that for us and we had a great experience with the night boat tour in the mangroves or the tour to Corcovado. Even when we returned to our car, which we left in Sierpe, we had a chance to do a mangrove tour seeing a lot of animals. their captain Melvin found every animal even if they were hiding and took us close to them. We will definitely come back when visiting Costa Rica again.

Wonderful place for those who wish to be away from crowds and enjoy nature and a quite beach. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Home cooked local food was so delicious. David and Elena are wonderful hosts. Their place is the best kept secret in the Drake Bay area.

Very nice host who helped us with everything we wanted to do during our stay. The cabins give a close contact with nature outside due to net windows. You wake up to howling monkeys instead of the rooster. Good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Drake Bay is a remote yet breathtaking destination, and our stay at Natural Drake Bay Hotel made our visit truly unforgettable. We spent four nights here as the final leg of our Costa Rica trip, hoping to find a comfortable place that would enhance our experience of this faraway corner of the world. I’m thrilled to say we couldn’t have chosen a better place. Natural Drake Bay is a family-run hotel situated in a stunning location, perched perfectly to offer beautiful views of the bay. Both the pool and restaurant offer stunning views of the bay, creating a mesmerizing scene —at one point, we even saw whales jumping from the water! The beach is also just a 3 minute walk. Patricia, Daniel, and their team, particularly Victor, provide a luxurious experience. Throughout our stay, we felt very well cared for. Everyday, when you arrive, Patricia welcomes you with refreshing, beautifully scented cold towels, which is a wonderful treat after a hot day. Victor then serves the most exquisite fruit juices I’ve ever tasted. Even when activities (Corcovado Park visit, Snorkeling in Caño Island, ….) started at the crack of dawn, they were there to prepare breakfast for you The hotel takes great pride in highlighting local cuisine at dinner, with top quality produce exquisitely cooked. The rooms offer views of the surroundings, which were full of life (Birds, Iguanas, Monkeys) and relaxing in the hammocks was a spectacle in itself. Toucans would perch in the tree next to the cabin, while showering. The toiletries were of high quality, adding to the overall sense of luxury. In summary, Natural Drake Bay Hotel provided us with an exceptional experience, combining comfort, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

Quality food, great staff Staff did put together a lot of stuff to do for us and every thing we asked for was settled in a record time. We were there for new years eve and the tuna was to die for !!! we saw toucans and other great wildlife in our three days at the property Thanks Roy for putting up with us !

We felt so very welcomed by the super friendly owner Eliana and her house is cozy, beautiful and unique. Situated at the River Sierpe and in a lush garden we were surrounded by the stunning nature. We went on an early morning boat trip for three hours organized by Eliana and saw lots of different birds, some crocodiles, some caymans and two species of monkeys (capuchin and squirrel monkeys). After the boat trip Eliana indulged us with a delicious breakfast. We would have loved to stay longer... Thank you so much! ♡

Friendly, kind and helpful staff, simply amazing!

It is even prettier than in photos. The pool is spectacular thanks to the wild environment. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was varied. The hotel is very well maintained. The location is good, close to the beach up a steep hill and close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The food is delicious and the girls in the restaurant are incredible, they treated us with all the love and kindness of Ticos, always going above and beyond to help us. We would love to return to this hotel as it was one of our best lodging experiences during our trip to Costa Rica. We feel that for the price we paid, we got much more than in other accommodations.

Very friendly staff. They were patient and let me use my poor Spanish, even though I'm sure they spoke much better English than my Spanish. They helped me book a snorkeling tour by calling around to different places. The balcony is beautiful and very private, and the bed is super comfy. Location is great, tons of restaurants and shops nearby. On the last day, they even made me an early breakfast since I was leaving for Corcovado at 5:30.
