Our recent stay at this resort was nothing short of perfect. We spent 8 days here, and it was the first time all year I truly relaxed – I even slept a full 12 hours! This place is ideal for unwinding and recharging after a long stretch of hard work. The thermal pools, natural sauna, and cosmetic mud treatments made me feel as though I’d taken a trip to paradise; I left feeling rejuvenated and, honestly, about 10 years younger! My daughter loved the experience as well. She got to see so many beautiful birds, a real volcano, and a lush, green botanical garden. The entire staff, especially the team at reception, was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed every step of the way. We’ll definitely be back. And to anyone concerned about the road, consider it a bonus adventure! It’s like a free jungle excursion with glimpses into local life – from domestic restaurants to schools and family homes. This is hands down the best resort we’ve ever visited. Thank you for the amazing experience!

So much to do and all within the lodge - the staff members are amazing people like Noel, Moises, Roy, Arturo, Carlos, Victor and Bismarck made our stay one to treasure for ever. Jose David as well as the cafe, pottery, trapiche and the zip lining staff together with William the cowboy are all to be commended. Thank you so much - el mirador and the spa were the best.

I loved everything about this place. The staff, the food at the restaurant, everything. Best thing is that you can do several activities for free if you book a night there! Can definitely recommend the waterfall near the national park! Nice and friendly staff, comfy beds!

We received a warm welcome from Mario. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - on one occasion he arranged an evening meal reservation for us at Rancho Don Luis (they opened up just to accommodate us and the other couple staying at Amazilia). Our room was an adequate size - the wide bed was very comfortable and the shower worked well (though the water wasn't hot). We made very good use of the lovely pool area. The dining area was great and we enjoyed the breakfasts - the cook was also responsible for cleaning the rooms and the property and she did a great job. Amazilia is ideally located for Parque Nacional Rinco de la Vieja - unfortunately, during our stay, the park was closed due to the excessive rainfall Costa Rica had been having. We ate 3 times at nearby Rancho Los Gavilanes - it has a lovely setting by a river.

The genuine kindness of our hosts was really moving.... Letting us taste different types of juices...helping us to plan our visit to the volcano areas and helping our son who had a skinburn on his arms. The lodge itself is very authentic. The garden benefits from more than 40 years of carefully maintenance with lots of love..with flowers and trees you think you find yourself in a botanical garden. Hummingbirds are flying around your head during breakfast. And finally...the food was gorgeous...homegrown vegetables and fruits and produces such as ricotta cheese..very royal quantities...your own grand mother would not have spoiled you so well. Thanks for the lovely stay and memory
