"Escondida" (hidden) is really not exaggerated. The Airbnb is really an oasis is an otherwise rather ordinary and rather busy city what Alajuela is. But within the Hacienda, it's all peace and quiet, with a wonderful view on a rather large garden an a swimming pool with the perfect temperature. The rooms are impeccably clean and spacy. But what interested me at least equally was the fact that I discovered actually flies of the fly family I am specialized in, which was a great surprise. Hence the score 10/10 for our residence.

After a long day of travel, this was the perfect first stop on our trip to Costa Rica. Very welcoming. Amazing views. On arrival we sat on the patio and our surroundings quickly shifted us into vacation mode. They gave us great dinner recommendations, and we loved having coffee, fresh fruit and toast/croissants delivered to our room in the morning. It was nice to walk around their beautiful property, as well.

Our room overlooked the main road with a view of Poas Volcano. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash as well as a hairdryer. The hotel was recently opened, so everything was nice and new. Had a meal from the restaurant which was great. Buffet breakfast was also very nice with lots of options. Great option if you need an overnight stay close to the airport (5 mins away). Next door to the City Mall which is handy if you want to do a little shopping. Also close enough to do a day trip to Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall and the Starbucks Coffee Farm.

Very good location, close to SJO Airport, free and frequent shuttle to/from the airport, good airconditioned, quiet room, perfect for a good night sleep after a longhaul flight. Breakfast was really good, the gallo pinto and fried plantains were exceptional. Breakfast was available from early morning. Close to walmart and atm (as the one inside the airport didn't work).

It's a quaint Spanish home that was converted into a hotel in 1915 by the grandmother who had the vision / foresight. It is beautiful and the owners (daughter & husband) are very polite and accommodating. Breakfast was perfect and a menu to meet each pallette.

The best place in San José ! We were impressed by the quality of the service, the beauty of the place (Well decorated, access to the pool and AC) and the professionalism of the person who work here. We strongly recommend it, the bed was comfortable, the area safe, and we could find lot of shops, parks and families living around. The Breakfast is fabulous, with fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juices and continental option (bread, cheese, ham, jam, butter, cereals...)
