The location is amazing and had a great view from both our room and the jacuzzi. The breakfast was also amazing and gourmet. You can still get to Minca in a 20 minute walk.

The restaurant has a nice view overlooking the city and it offers a variety of breakfast options. If you are taking the colectivo to the hostel, let the driver know so they can drop you off before getting to Minca. It's a 10~15 minutes walk uphill from the hostel to the Minca village.

[Birder review] We were lucky that the "colibrí" room had in front of it a tree full of ripe berries, so over 2 mornings, we were able to observe from the balcony at 6am while wearing pajamas, at a 4 to 8 meters distance: Keel-billed Toucan, Black-chested Jay, Swallow Tanager, Crimson-backed Tanager, Summer Tanager, Scarlet Tanager, Crested Oropendola, Crimson-crested Woodpecker, Black-crowned Tityra, Masked Tityra, Red-crowned Woodpecker, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Prothonotary Warbler, Thick-billed Euphonia, Dusky capped flycatcher, Baltimore Oriole, Orange-crowned Oriole, Chestnut-capped Warbler, Squirrel Cuckoo, Streaked Saltator, Red-legged Honeycreeper, Tropical Parula, Tennessee Warbler, and Scaled Pigeon. Overall I'd say this is the right place for a birder to stay at Minca. The rooms are surrounded by native forest, lots of birds, and still the place is close enough to town to still be convenient. For the hard endemics, seek day tours to "El Campano/Los Pinos" and "Cerro Kennedy".

Had the most fantastic stay at Hotel Hukumeizi. From the amazing food (most of which they grow themselves or source nearby, and you can tell), to the location, surrounded by nature, waterfalls and swimming spots at your doorstep, our stay here was absolute respite! Jorge & Co are building something special here, and we’re grateful we had the chance to experience it.

Great hotel located by the river. The sound from the river gives an additional essence to the whole stay or your calm sleep. Everything is great in this combo and if I come back, I'd choose the same hotel. Everyone is helpful and know the meaning of hospitality. Great design and the whole concept of the hotel. Great getaway, perfect retreat place. Butterflies paradise and great swimming in the river. Sleeping with the sounds of the jungle (but protected against the insects). Free yoga classes and wonderful vegan food menu. Teenagers also loved it.
