The food was delightful and there were plenty of birds. I loved the attention to the history of the land and the indigenous peoples who the owners respect and employ. I was in Colombia for two weeks and was looking for peace and quiet and birds and this spot had it all. I saw at least 50 species around the grounds and the short trail to town.

[Birder review] We were lucky that the "colibrí" room had in front of it a tree full of ripe berries, so over 2 mornings, we were able to observe from the balcony at 6am while wearing pajamas, at a 4 to 8 meters distance: Keel-billed Toucan, Black-chested Jay, Swallow Tanager, Crimson-backed Tanager, Summer Tanager, Scarlet Tanager, Crested Oropendola, Crimson-crested Woodpecker, Black-crowned Tityra, Masked Tityra, Red-crowned Woodpecker, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Prothonotary Warbler, Thick-billed Euphonia, Dusky capped flycatcher, Baltimore Oriole, Orange-crowned Oriole, Chestnut-capped Warbler, Squirrel Cuckoo, Streaked Saltator, Red-legged Honeycreeper, Tropical Parula, Tennessee Warbler, and Scaled Pigeon. Overall I'd say this is the right place for a birder to stay at Minca. The rooms are surrounded by native forest, lots of birds, and still the place is close enough to town to still be convenient. For the hard endemics, seek day tours to "El Campano/Los Pinos" and "Cerro Kennedy".

This place is like visiting a fairytaleland... It is the perfect place to relax and detach, slow down and enjoy every second. I absolutely fell in love with this place in seconds. The rooms are spacious and very beautiful, it was my little princess palace for 3 nights and if my shedule would have allowed it I would have stayed way longer. The staff is so sweet and the dogs are the best to have fun with and go on a little hike to the closeby little waterfalls. The river is magical and you sleep so well with the soothing sound of it. By day you can cool of in the fresh water and play and float with the current. I also visited the neighbours that are from indiginous Wiwa tribe. Spent a beautiful afternoon with them and got some very wise advice for life. Jorge, the owner, is really nice and makes sure you have the best time there. The food is sooooooooo amazing, I don't know how to go back to like normal food after this experience. Connected deeply with this place and can't wait to go back.

Loved our stay here. Wake up early to have the riverside for you alone and enjoy the hummingbirds visiting the little feeding things they hung there. We even saw some toucans in the trees near the riverside. Food is amazing, we recommend the skewers (but honestly all things we ate here were amazing). Go with the birdwatching tour of Jungle Joe (no reservation needed, just show up at 6 a.m. at their agency and you pay, get proper binoculars and go, you will return still in time for breakfast at the hotel).

Great getaway, perfect retreat place. Butterflies paradise and great swimming in the river. Sleeping with the sounds of the jungle (but protected against the insects). Free yoga classes and wonderful vegan food menu. Teenagers also loved it.
