Staying at Laojia was a very unique and unforgetable experience! It is not a hotel where you just pay money and get a bed and hotel service in return. It is more like a homestay where you are the only tourist in the very beautiful town of Langshi. You cook your own breakfast, eggs are brought by the neigbour the evening before, another lady from the village cooks lunch and dinner and in the meantime you can go swimming, hiking (bring bug spray in summer) or do nothing but enjoy the peacefulness of this remote place. I felt totally safe during our stay and everybody was very nice to us. For our arrival we were picked up at Guilin train station and were brought to a little ferry at Li river to get to the other side. I recommend arranging a pick-up with a local driver to assure a smooth arrival. After the ferry, Haibo, our local host, picked us up in his little three-wheel pick-up. A very fun and unique experience, you have to be up for that! Totally recommended for everybody seeking an adventure, an authentic experience far away from tourist crowds and who is fine living simple but still comfortable during that time. Make sure to stay at least 3 nights.

A very modern hotel with an interior design reminiscent of traditional Chinese architecture, but with all the possible comforts. The garden terrace surrounded by mountains makes you feel in nature, while you eat the fantastic breakfast they prepare. It's like a dream. The staff were simply lovely, they helped us with everything. The area was also incredible, very close to the mountains we wanted to go to. And especially next to the Daimon mountain, which, without being the most famous, was our favorite, for its views and because of the few people who go there. We will return one day!!!

The view of the mountains from the balcony is gorgeous, the hotel is located around 2km away from the city center, which makes it quiet compared to the town. The owners lend us bicycles, very practical to get around. Overall the staff was super friendly and eager to help, I can only recommend!

The hotel is super convenient, walkable to lots of restaurants. The lady at the tour desk/ coffee bar was really helpful and she made good coffee! All staff members we met (from the Security at the gate, the Reception, Housekeeping, to the technician who came to check on our A/C) were very friendly and courteous.
