United KingdomThis was such a delightful experience. Whilst the pictures on the site looked nice it exceeded expectations. The design of the lobby and rooms are rich with local elements, such as iron ore and dried plants native to the Gobi Desert. The staff are extremely helpful and really available 24/7. The room facilities are really high quality, lovely design and it was a really comfy stay. If you are traveling to the northwest and wish to experience the essence of Jiayuguan City, this hotel is a really an excellent choice—and the price is great!

It's a nice stop on the way west to Xinjiang.
It's a nice stop on the way west to Xinjiang. I would of course rank Dunhuang higher but Jiayuguan is great for one day if you want to see the western end of the Great Wall. The wall itself is photogenic and be on the lookout for costumed characters inside who look like they're from the Ming dynasty.
