Fantastic place in the perfect location. Great hosts and simply a wonderful place to use as a base for exploring Valpo. Comfy beds, spacious bathroom, good breakfast. From the patio you can enjoy a view of the harbour. We enjoyed every minute.

This hotel is a real gem. The location is perfect. The neighborhoods Cerro Allegre and Cerro Conception are right at your doorstep. All staff were super attentive,very friendly and had great tips for us. Someone was available 24/7. The place felt very safe (always locked). The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was made to order with a lot of love. The view from up there is stunning. The rooms are very clean.

Originally we had booked another place in Valpariso. Though we had booked it 6 months beforehand, they cancelled, while we were flying in. We were desperately searching for an alternative in the very booked out town. And we found this lovely place. Still walking distance to the sights to see, a fantastic view over the bay and most of all, very helpful and friendly staff. As we had planned our new year’s eve with the other place, we had no more dinner and nothing to welcome the new year. Carolina arranged everything for us last minute and saved our night! Big thank you!

Casa Puente Is a gorgeous grand house in Cerro Alegre, near lovely restaurants and walking distance from the main attractions in Valparaíso. Rooms are decorated by artists and have excellent facilities: large king size beds, massive windows and comfortable ensuite bathrooms. Cris, the concierge, was super attentive to our needs and helped us organise our trip to Isla Negra on public transport. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. They have a sundeck with chairs and loungers and a swimming pool (but was not in use when we stayed). We loved our stay there and highly recommend the place.

Valparaíso is an edgy, colourful city with epic street art.

Valparaíso is an edgy, colourful city with epic street art. There are a lot of hills, some accessible by funiculars (when they're not closed for maintenance), in general those with mobility challenges should rethink the destination. There are some dodgy areas even by day, The Flats, and as our host warned us, "avoid the stair cases". We were forced to use one (without incident) as the Funicular was not operational. The best way to see the downtown area is a walking tour, our guide was an exception ambassador for Valparaíso, and the history and tips about where to find eateries, street art, etc. were invaluable. We stayed in Cerro Alegre, the most picturesque neighbourhood in the city located high above the harbour. There's lots of eateries, small inns, fabulous architecture and plenty colourful murals. If you want to skip the hill you can get there via the El Peral or Reina Victoria elevators / funiculars. I did a daytrip to Viña del Mar, in my opinion Valparaíso feels much more authentic, a community versus a resort town, Chile unvarnished.

We were in Valparaiso for three nights, and we could have...

We were in Valparaiso for three nights, and we could have spent more time looking over the city. We took a trip around the area in the rental car, and with more time, we could have revisited some of the interesting places we drove through. There is a lot to see along the coast. We found good coffee and tasty food being served at Tallers Cafe, and could have made it our local. We didn't see many of the attractions, as we spent time wandering around the city, looking at the street art.

Valparaiso is bohemian in a rough way, great to stroll around Cerro Alegre and concepcion for a couple of days. A constant smell of human urine and dog shit. ( not so bad in the 2 Cerros mentioned but the rest ....;(.....the lower part of the city is an example when a city is left to decay. One can only imagine the grandeur ( long gone ) of Valpo 100 years ago.

They say you love or hate Valparaiso. The street art and walking is fantastic for those with sturdy hiking legs. You are constantly lost which takes you to surprising new spots. The food and drinks and views from dining terraces is superb

The highlight of our visit to Valparaiso was a private city...

The highlight of our visit to Valparaiso was a private city tour by Fernanda (walking_tour_valpo) who spent a very enjoyable three hours with us describing the history and development of this colourful city .... and sharing her extensive and intimate knowledge of the public art that adorns the city.

The staff were amazing! They made up for the fact that there are no elevators and many stairs and helped to carry our heavy luggage. They did everything with a smile and gave us amazing recommendations for lunch and dinner. The hotel is well located and close to excellent restaurants. The breakfast was good as well...they provided gluten free options which has been a rarity in my experience in Chile. Parking was safe (in a locked lot) next to the hotel and the hotel staff helped us carry our luggage to the hotel.

Just the best hotel during our 6 weeks tour in Peru/Chile. Everything was just perfect, france m the arrival to the departure. Every staff is welcoming, caring and smiling. Room is spacious and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is simple, focusing on the quality of products. Restaurant offers a terrasse and very good food. A special mention for Marco, the driver of the hotel who took me to Emergency and stayed with me the all time until I went back to the hotel..

The hotel has standard rooms — not too big, but not small either. The bathroom is great and very clean. Excellent location, close to the metro and surrounded by many restaurants and bars. The staff are kind and helpful. They stored our luggage before check-in and after check-out at no extra cost. Overall, a good value for money for anyone visiting Valparaíso.
