The location was magical with views of the other palafitos and across the water. The breakfast room/shared area was charming, especially with the breakfast table atop a dinghy and it was well positioned for the views. The construction of the buiding with wooden shingles, floors, walls and ceilings was charming along with the artesanal art pieces on display. There was room for two cars to park in front of the premises which is rare for the area.

We absolutely loved our stay. The room was bright, modern and clean with a beautiful view of the river and a very comfortable bed and great shower. The cafe was quite nice with a lovely dining area with views of the river and a fabulous waterfront deck. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were great.

100 Points for Gloria and Jose-Louis. They were wonderful hosts. We arrived late and tired and were able to order a delicious soup and salad meal on short notice. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and stylish (and of course clean). The private hot tub, looking out over the trees was great. Breakfast by the fire was a great start to the day. We got a great tip where to eat out on the next night and had one of the best meals of our trip. On our last day Gloria took us on an excursion to Dalcahue and then to Parque Meular, which is not even open to the public yet. It was a priviledge. We also enjoyed talking to Gloria and Jose-Louis late into the night to discover the similarities and differences between Germany and Chile and many other topics. WE fehlt totally at home.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was lovely since the beginning, the room was cozy and warm, the food at the restaurant was delicious and always available, and it was great to have facilities like sauna and swimming pool after a long day out. (Breakfast was delicious too). The internet was fast and available from all the places of the hotel, which is great for people who travel for work. The location was more than excellent, having the main places very close, like Castro Cathedral, many cafes and restaurants, crafts fair, and the coast.

Castro is a basic Chilloe town. There is walking around the estuary and a beach on the opposite side. The national park with a board walk walk is 30 minutes drive. There are a couple of good restaurants. Two days was plenty of time

I'd been to Castro several times, but this was my first...

I'd been to Castro several times, but this was my first during high season, and I'd advise travelers that unless you like sitting in backed-up traffic ('taco') for long stretches, just avoid Castro from mid-January to late February, when trying to drive from anywhere north of Castro to anywhere south of Castro can take hours. November-December are great, however, and I'm told March is the best month of all. By and large, Chiloé's charms are not to be found in the cities.

Genuine palafito hotel, tastefully decorated, our room overlooking the Castro fjord, with a very good quality bed, linen and towels and the same for bathroom items. Breakfast and living room, with a table adapted for a small boat, with good quality products! Varied and interesting ambient sound and air-conditioned environments. The house was so quaint and comfortable. The check in experience was so easy, and my host gave great recommendations. It was very fun to be staying in a palafito in Castro! She even let me borrow a raincoat, because I didn't have one.

Perfect location, with a wonderful view on the bay. The whole hotel has beautiful windows from which you can admire the bay even under the rain, the whole atmosphere is cozy.

Our room was very cosy and comfortable, with a nice view on the bay. The hostal is very well located in Castro, owners are very nice and breakfast was good!
