Kura, the owner, greeted us at the Aitutaki airport with a beautiful lei of flowers, gave us a drive around the island. Our cabin was perfect- with the added delights of fresh pineapples & coconuts. So comfortable, close to food outlets, a washing machine. One of the loveliest places we've stayed in. 🌺

The location is breath-taking. The bungalow is beautifully clean and comfortable with everything you can possibly need. Nothing is too much trouble for host - Niki - taking care of airport transfers and even a town tour upon arrival. Fantastic takeaway right next door together with convenience store.

Our booking was very last minute so we really appreciated the immediate response to our request. Airport pickup/drop off was so well received by us both. Took the stress off us to organize. This place is kept immaculately clean and manicured, from the villas, bathroom and hardwood deck floor, to the gardens and the beach (the team rake and tidy the beach for you each morning) and the villa is appointed with every little touch you could imagine - the UV after filter, air conditioning, outside shower, kayaks and bikes. The photos do not do it justice! Mere is the most spectacular host who has thought of everything and delivers the most astounding service - very responsive to every question or request. I was part of a larger group who stayed at a number of resorts, hotels and villas across the island. I got to see them all - some more expensive & some cheaper - none of them came close to Heaven to Sea. We felt very lucky to have found this wonderful place, run by wonderful people who go the extra mile to make everything perfect!
Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodation on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkelling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property.

Right at the beautiful beach with amazing snorkeling, very quiet, amazing sunsets, close to the shops, right next to the Tamanu beach with the island show, close to the Pacific resort.
We stayed in the garden unit which has private bathroom and toilet- great. Little sitting outside was nice too.
Free bikes ( they are little rusty but do the job) to ride around the island which I recommend, we’ve seen the whole island and sweat a little bit as a bonus!
The lagoon cruise with Matthias was without the doubt the best think that is happening on that island!!! Worth every dollar ($150 pp). Not just that he takes you around the lagoon where all the other boats go too, but he also took us to see the outer reef which was the best part- so much life (lots of turtles, rays, colorful corals, milion fish). We had lunch at honeymoon island with a little walk around- Matthias is very knowlegable and since he lives on the island for 30 years he knows what he is talking about- so interesting!
We met other cruise with like 50 people at the one foot island and we were just sooo happy to be in small group of 5!!!
Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodation located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides.

We went on a lagoon cruise with Kia Orana Cruise and had a great time. We visited lots of the islands in the lagoon and also went snorkeling at two different sites. There are other cruise companies and some have much bigger boats and can take about 40 people. The cruise we chose had only 4 people on it so we could visit the tiny islands without the big crowds.
It is worth bearing in mind that this is a small island and everything must be imported from Rarotonga which in turns imports a lot from NZ. It's not extremely cheap but the views and the people make it all worth it.
Everything was perfect, from the welcoming, till the end. So superb friendly hosts, with a lot of attention to your needs and the best recommendations. Superb and spacious bungalow with beach view, for romantic breakfast or dinner with sunset. Great private tour around the lagoon. Available kayak for enjoying the lagoon in front of the bungalow. Don't go for any luxury hotel, just book Tai Marino.
We had a great time at Sunny Beach Lodge when we stayed there for 1 week in October. Centrally located on the island, close to Amuri town. Supermarket and drinking water station are across the road.
Niki is a fantastic host, doing his best to give his guests a wonderful stay. Sunny Beach Lodge felt like a warm community, we had so many lovely neighbours!
