Amazing location just round the corner from the town square but still quiet and a real retreat. The staff were super helpful, friendly and welcoming. The bed and room were comfy and with thoughtful amenities and a delicious free breakfast.

The staff was very friendly and kind. The hotel is situated in a very calm area so sleep was excellent. The hotel itself is very clean and cozy. It was a very nice experience and I would definitely stay there again.

Very quaint town along the Rhein river.

Very quaint town along the Rhein river. Easy to drive to Schaffhausen and Rheinfalls. Also easy access to the boats going up and down the river. We rented eBikes at River Bike in town, and there are some great bike paths (like Stein am Rhein to Diessenhofen which goes through a forest in Germany).

The old town and the information about the history of the...

The old town and the information about the history of the buildings and families are worth a visit, if not a trip. It's easy to find good food (restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc.), and the right bank of the Rhine offers pleasant places to relax. The region is ideal for walking and cycling.

There are many beautiful old buildings, stories/museums, shops, restaurants, the river, etc. So many lovely things! We've been there three times already, always discovering or trying something new. This time we tried the homemade ice cream with fresh berries at the bakery-confectionery in the market square, and it's sensationally fruity (it's the season for it).

The apartment's location, close to the Rhine and the...

The apartment's location, close to the Rhine and the vineyards, is hygienic and clean. But it's very stuffy; there's no air conditioning or fan, and no mosquito screens for the many mosquitoes. There's no garden or privacy; the apartment faces the road.

Apart from the garden, it was simply accommodation in a converted former inn, which didn't deserve the name "hotel". In this case, I now know what GARNI means: absolutely nothing!

A beautiful, historic little town.

A beautiful, historic little town. Wonderful old buildings with lovely paintings. The main street and the Schiffländi (riverside promenade) are the most interesting parts. Unfortunately, the restaurants are in the very high category. Stein am Rhein is easily explored on foot.

We loved everything about this hotel. In fact we used this hotel twice because it was so good; once on the outbound trip and once on the inbound trip. We loved the regalia in the corridors; the polar bears, the suit of armour. The rooms were quaint. We were there during a heat wave and the air conditioning was a real blessing. The hotel was wonderfully situated and you could dine overlooking the lake. The food was amazing.

Good overnight stay for cyclists along the Rhine. This budget hotel is right at the entrance to the picturesque historic Stein am Rhein altstadt, provides secure overnight storage for bikes - we counted 8 other bikes that night - and includes an early continental breakfast to get cyclists started the next day. The hostess was welcoming, the wifi was good and there was plenty of hot water. We'd stay here again.

The rooms were recently renovated and very comfy. The bathroom is not the newest, but the rain forest shower is great. It’s also located right at the edge of the old town of Stein am Rhein in a very quiet corner. Breakfast was yummy. There is a very cosy terrasse on the third floor.

The property was a perfect little apartment in a quiet neighbourhood in walking distance of the centre of Stein am Rhein. Comfortable beds and a decent little kitchen. The only thing missing was a microwave!
