Genuine, personal touch by the management and staff. Facilities were excellent all round - extremely well considered and designed. The views were stunning and reflected the advertisement. Even more stunning when actually there seeing it for real the best holiday ever for my wife and I . Would highly recommend this hotel and murren for a special break . It really was something else! - very special indeed and a great advert for Switzerland

This hotel’s location is truly fantastic, as it is situated directly in front of Mürren BLM Station, so there is no need to walk a long distance while pulling heavy luggage. Our party consisted of six people—four stayed in a family room, and the other two stayed in a separate room. The family room had a balcony and was equipped with one queen bed and two single beds, which comfortably accommodated four people. The room was spacious, very clean, and the bedding and furnishings were all well-prepared and in excellent condition. From the balcony, we had a clear view of the Silberhorn and the Jungfrau mountain behind it. The balcony offered a splendid view of the beautiful landscape of Mürren. All the front desk staff were very kind. The breakfast at the hotel was also of high quality. There was a wide variety of food, and everything was very fresh. During breakfast, a waiter came to each table to take drink orders, such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate (included in the breakfast). The view from the breakfast restaurant windows was also wonderful. Our entire family was extremely satisfied with our stay.

An absolutely wonderful hotel — not just because of its great location, cleanliness, and stunning views from the windows, but above all because of its highly professional staff. Going up to the Sonnenberg dormitories is a bit of a hike in itself - which self selects the people staying there, resulting in the best crowd ever. I slept in one of the common dormitories and had the penthouse view from the window - a full view over the mountains and the sunrise in the morning. Chris is the most gracious host ever, and he is more than happy if you bring friends along to this little gem.

Mürren was a great jumping off point for many hikes and adventures in the area, but was much more laid-back and less crowded than Lauterbrunnen. At the same time, it had plenty of shops, groceries, restaurants for our needs.

Stunning car free village high in the mountains, which requires a gondola and train to reach. We loved it. Great restaurants with exceptional views. You could walk around at night and just marvel at the majestic sights and fun atmosphere. We had dinner at the Edelweiss on the outside balcony twice. Magical views, staff was fun, welcoming and always smiling. Had the fondue and gelato, both were excellent! We had a great time staying in Murren.

Murren is best characterized by its access to outdoor...

Murren is best characterized by its access to outdoor activity, hiking, via ferrata and skiing. The town itself is small but pretty. It is best to make a reservation for supper to ensure a spot, particularly during high season. It is easy to get around on foot. However... this quaint picturesque town is situated in the mountains so the weather can be very severe even in summer; so bring appropriate outdoor clothing (rain gear) even for simple activities like walking to the store or restaurant.

It is touristy, but also feels more like a village and has more charm than Wengen or Lauterbrunnen - those have more services but charm and views seemed inferior. The views are just exceptional, and there are scenic walking trails for different capabilities, some very easy just following a road, and some a bit more demanding going on mountain paths - for instance I walked down one rather steep forest path to Lauterbrunnen. Going up and down in cable cars is a small adventure in itself, and there is direct connection to Schilthorn cable which I think is the best and most reasonable option for going up even closer to the high mountains for top notch views. The summer comes late to this area, so in early May lots of paths were not open due to lingering snow and cable cars and trains were in maintenance, however also fewer people were around which for me was more important. Also I had some lucky perfect visibility days, and some all views behind the fog and drizzles non stop days, would be very unlucky to have only those. Essential transportation connections were maintained (bus instead of train or at least one cable car open), so that's not a big concern.

Murren is a small town in the Alps.

Murren is a small town in the Alps. It has many hotels and restaurants. It has a grocery store and some shops. The people are friendly and I always felt safe. It is a car free town but it is easy to get to by cable car and train. The hiking in the area is absolutely gorgeous.

The facilities were great, I had a big room with a lovely bathroom, comfy bed and my balcony had a view of the Jungfrau. The hotel was really quiet which is a priority for me in terms of a good night's sleep. Breakfast was great and also had dinner one night in the hotel which was delicious. I'd also recommend the Singaporean restaurant on the main street, eat in or take away. It's run by a lovely couple and the food is always excellent. We always eat here when we're in Murren.

Excellent location, beautiful view on the mountains and the world's best tennis courts. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are comfy, also amazing view from them, enough space to pack out. Bathrooms are shared on the floor - but it is written in the advertisement and clean, all good. Brekfast was great, hearty, strong coffee. Great stay, I can imagine also for skiing in the winter.

Amazing View. Our room balcony had a amazing view of the mountains, we loved it. The room was clean and beds were comfy. Short walk from Murren Train station. Great location. Lot of nearby restaurants. Nice breakfast and helping staff. This hotel, we actually lovely the stay and one of the highlight of our whole Europe trip.

The hotel is perfectly located to explore the Jungfrau Region. Great hikes around Mürren depart directly from the hotel. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building with interesting architectural features. The breakfast they serve is good, and also the evening meals are tasty.
