Such a wonderful hotel. Gorgeous rooms, delicious food, and the owner (Simon) was so friendly and kindly helped my husband and I set up our ski touring equipment in his downstairs workshop and even gave us tips on ski touring because he is an incredible athlete! We so appreciated all the attention to detail at his fabulous hotel - highly recommend.

Perfect location ! near the train and bus station but accessible to the town on foot. The STAFF are wonderful!! 3 week trip and these folks were THE best!! the hotel is great - not fancy but very comfortable and the restaurant was awesome. Food was great and the drinks were as well. Breakfast was more basic but it was all we needed. WE were given a pass for the gondola system in town and took advantage of that - enjoyed the town as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and meeting the people from the hotel. Worth a visit!!!

You can tell this hotel is older but still in good shape. 10 minute-ish uphill with bags from the train station, which was doable for us. Meiringen is completely walk-able if you have the ability but there are some elevation changes. We enjoyed the decor and theme of the hotel as we were there for a Sherlock Holmes interest based visit. The staff we interacted with were all friendly and helpful, I speak basic bones Swiss German and French and was prepared to muddle through but everyone that we spoke to spoke way better English than I can speak Swiss. We could tell that the hotel was still reasonably busy with guests but we never heard anything in our room and slept like babies after hiking and wandering the town all day. Traveling with a vegetarian, so Indian cuisine being served in the hotel restaurant was fantastic. The breakfast had a good variety that everyone could eat. This hotel is friendly toward the hiking traveler, there was a clothesline over the bath that we made use of for drying laundry and it was much appreciated. The town isn't large so we walked everywhere, it was a 10 minute walk to the funicular for Reichenbach Falls from this hotel, no need to wait for the bus, less than 10 minutes around the whole town, so it wasn't onerous to pop back to the hotel for something if we forgot it. We enjoyed our two night stay and we would stay there again.

Everything. It's a home away from home. Kitchen and wash room are fully equiped. Host has think of Everything one need. Toys that provided are a super way to make children busy. It was the best apartment we ever had. Host is very nice and helpful. Meiringen is a calm and quert area. We visited end of may 2025. It's a really good location as well.

The location is 2 min walk from Train station. The rooms are clean will all amenities for a family to stay comfortably. Host Ralph is very interesting and co-operative person.
