Perfect location ! near the train and bus station but accessible to the town on foot. The STAFF are wonderful!! 3 week trip and these folks were THE best!! the hotel is great - not fancy but very comfortable and the restaurant was awesome. Food was great and the drinks were as well. Breakfast was more basic but it was all we needed. WE were given a pass for the gondola system in town and took advantage of that - enjoyed the town as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and meeting the people from the hotel. Worth a visit!!!

We just stayed for a night to go hiking and had a perfect evening and night. The breakfast was very good. Room was quiet. It is walking distance to the center. The staff was really nice.

Apartment has everything for a family, the area is quiet, access to laundry washing machine on the same floor available 7-21:00, fully equipped kitchen, a balcony with some mountain view, a free water source near the building. Good touristic opportunities in walking distance, like the waterfall, Aare gorge, cable car to go to a village with very nice view of the mountains and a place to drink a coffee, even on Sunday. In town you can have a coffee only in restaurants on Sunday, or in a kind of bar which did not give me a good impression.

Only had a brief overnight stay but found that almost all the shops shut in the middle of Saturday afternoon and are closed on Sundays. Nothing against that, but it’s not ideal for a walking holiday. And the church bell tolls every 15 minutes, all night!

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts.

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts. It is not nearly as touristic as the nearby Interlaken and offers the chance to enjoy nature including Reichenbach falls, glaciers and the Aare Gorge cozily. A perfect escape location with a real Swiss spirit.

It was a lovely town unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions most shops were close. However Meiringen is centrally located to Interlaken, Lucern, Grimmewald. All within driving distance. Will visit again in summer , hopefully the covid restrictions are no longer there

It's a bit difficult to judge at this time of year, as it's the transition between summer and winter. But for me, it's an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions, since many hotspots are easily accessible. Everything you need is available in town, including plenty of varied restaurants, for example.

There are countless things to do and visit around Meiringen.

There are countless things to do and visit around Meiringen. The Aare Gorge is best visited during off-peak hours, as it can get very crowded during the day. The train ride to Hasliberg (Reuti) takes you into the Hasliberg mountains in just 5 minutes.

I have to highlight the kindness from Kumar, the staff late night who stayed for us till very late to check in, as we were stuck up the mountains by car. He guided us directions on the phone and helped us reach to the hotel. Not many hotels were available for a decent price and Das Sherlock Holmes made us feel at ease. Location was excellent and truly grateful for the late night staff. Thank you kindly.

Its so convenient, its proximity to the train station just a 2 minute walk. The Hotel is clean, apartment is complete with fridge, dishwasher, oven and stove. They provide dishwashing tablets, bath towels, kitchen towels, kitchen sponge and dish soap. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery, waterfalls, glacier mountains, restaurants, convent stores and lively villages.

A very old hotel, but very close to Meiringen station. So easy to reach Interlaken and explore. Not great facilities but their staff was very supportive for late check in night and I really appreciate them for that.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Lovely decor and clean hotel. Hotel is 1 min from the Meiringen train station and only 8 mins walk from the Gondola station. Dinner was very tasty. I recommend this hotel.
