Amazing hospitality. Nice and spacious rooms. Delicious food and a beautiful area to stay. Went for a tough hike with my younger brother (via alpina1 from lauterbrunen to griesalp). In principle our timing was good, but unfortunately he sprained his ankle on the way down. It was not so bad we needed help, but bad enough that we needed to take it a lot slower to be safe for the final 1k altitude meters downwards. What should’ve been a 9 hour hike turned into 11 hours; Arriving tired and hungry at the property in complete darkness, about 2 hours after the kitchen had officially closed, we did not expect anything anymore. Yet, the owner of the property still offered us a meal and drinks, before showing us to our rooms. Despite her day being finished and she was wrapping things up to call it a night, she treated us with a so much kindness. We’re really grateful, and will make sure to come back to her hotel one day to finish the next section of the via alpina!

The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Thun and Brienz lakes, as well as the Lauterbrunnen valley, allowing you also to enjoy the relaxing Swiss Alps. The room has all you might need for your stay and Céline proved to be a kind and informative host. Our recent stay at Frutigresort in Frutigen, Switzerland, was absolutely fantastic and we can't recommend it enough, especially for families! This resort truly lives up to its motto of "arrive and simply enjoy." From the moment we checked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our room was comfortable, modern, and spotlessly clean, offering a lovely balcony with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains – perfect for enjoying our morning coffee. We particularly appreciated the spacious bathroom and the thoughtful touches like tea and coffee facilities in the room. What truly sets Frutigresort apart are the incredible facilities and endless activities available right on site. The highlight for us was definitely the fantastic indoor and outdoor swimming pools, which provided hours of entertainment for the whole family. It's so convenient to have such well-maintained pool areas accessible to guests. Beyond the pools, there's so much to do! The kids absolutely loved the adventure playground, mini-golf, and the artificial turf pitch. There were even table tennis facilities and a climbing tower for those seeking a bit more adventure. It's clear this resort has been designed with families in mind, ensuring there's something to keep everyone entertained, no matter their age. The location in Frutigen is also excellent, serving as a perfect base for exploring the stunning Bernese Oberland. We enjoyed easy access to hiking trails, and for those interested in winter sports, we learned it's also a great spot for skiing with a free ski bus service available. Public transport is easily accessible, and having free parking at the resort was a huge plus. The breakfast buffet at the BEMATO restaurant was a wonderful start to each day, offering a good variety of options to fuel up for our adventures.

Breathtaking view of the mountain and village! The cable car ride is a must! Perfect location if you prefer to stay at one location for few nights to cover Interlaken, Sigriswil, Iseltwald, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald and Zermatt in 3 or 4 days time by car.

This quite remote valley is beautiful, with outstanding views and many clearly signposted walks. It is totally quiet in the evenings - except for cowbells and the occasional farm trailer. The bakery - Bakerei Aellig - is also a small grocery store and has an outreach post office. On the bakery side everything is home-made and as good as you can find. Try the Bienenstich ('Bee sting' in English)!! The chairlift isn't always open but when it is we recommend that you use it to reach Ramslauenen - a mountain restaurant with rooms - with wonderful Swiss food. You can also walk up from the village (2hrs and steep) or drive the mountain road (costs 10chf). We also ate lunch at Alpenruh, an hour along the valley from the village - again beautiful traditional Swiss food - and rooms. If you are staying, the 3chf a day tourist tax entitles you to free travel to and from the main railway in the valley below - really worth having! Cannot recommend this valley more strongly!

It is a lovely quite little Alpine village nestled perfectly...

It is a lovely quite little Alpine village nestled perfectly between the mountains. The people are really nice. There was also a music festival going on for the summers which just increased the charm of the place by leaps and bounds. There is also a small bakery/groceries store which is well stocked and has some nice breads and cheese. All in all it was the perfect getaway.
