The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I had no difficulties communicating only in English. The location was perfect, only a 2 minute walk from the train station. The breakfast buffet was served in a beautiful dining room with tall ceilings, with views of the mountains from the windows. Breakfast included a hot ‘English breakfast’ style selection, a cold ‘Swiss style’ cheese, meats and fruits section, a variety of breads and cereals and coffee machine/variety of teas. I was able to leave my luggage here during the day after checkout with no problems. The wifi was efficient.

There’s always that special feeling when you find a true gem, and you simply don’t want to share it. That’s exactly how I felt about these apartments. It’s perfection in every sense. I travel often, but it’s rare to find a place where absolutely nothing is missing. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, and the attention to detail is truly impressive. The kitchen has everything you might need to prepare a meal, even appliances most guests probably wouldn’t use, but they’re there just in case. The bathroom is stocked with all the essentials, and the shower even lets you play music so you can sing along while you wash. The living room feels like a private cinema, with a screen over three meters wide. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome. A bar of Swiss chocolate and a bottle of prosecco await you. When I asked the host if there was a way to dry our wet clothes, she kindly took care of them for us. They came back washed, dry, and neatly folded. You often see booking platforms say that the photos match reality. In this case, they don’t. The reality is so much better. Truly 11 out of 10. The host even apologized that there was no mountain view from the balcony because it was raining and cloudy at the time. I sincerely wish every host could offer just a fraction of the warmth and care found in this place.

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet...

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet for the perfect chilled couple of days. The hike to lake Oeschinensee was beautiful, the snow adding to the whole experience. Great transport links to the rest of Switzerland, has shops to provide what you’ll need while you’re there to cosy up in an apartment for a few days.

Kandersteg is a beautiful place for hiking and outdoor activities. I highly recommend to go to the Oeschenesee, it was one of our favorites on our trip. If you stay a little bit longer, maybe you also want to go to Saint-Leonard underground lake, what is easy to access with a car train that leaves from Kandersteg.

The apartment was spacious and had a terrific view from the balcony. Free parking was close by and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests. We could stay here again and highly recommend this property.

Kandersteg is a really lovely valley and town - not as touristy as other places but really beautiful and charming. I can recommend the tourist office (very nice people), Beckerei Marmotte for a real authentic village bakery and cafe/restaurant, and all the walks and cablecars - I can't wait to be back.

Easy travels whether on foot or from train and bus stops.

Easy travels whether on foot or from train and bus stops. Plenty of places to stop for coffee or buy a snack. Sunnbüel, Oeschinensee and Blausee are a must see. Use the SBB app and google maps and you won’t get lost. If you have a half day to spare, take the bus to Adelboden just for the scenery.

Such a cute little town to spend a couple of days in! I wish I had stayed more than a night, but at this time of year I'm not sure there would have been that much more to do if I were staying a week or something. There does seem to be skiing in the winter, though, so I'm sure other travelers have much more to do during the winter!

Very new and well equipped apartment with everything you need. We stayed for 2 nights and were very comfortable in the apartment. Location is excellent too, just a short 10-15 min walk to the Kandersteg cable car station. There are coop and other small supermarkets nearby, all within walking distance. Garage was provided too. Host was helpful and responded quickly to our questions. Really enjoyed our stay here. I think it’s the best choice in Kandersteg!

This informal hotel on the edge of Kandersteg in the high Alps is really good value. The single room had a balcony. Breakfast (served from 8.00am) had plenty of choice and excellent coffee. Half-board meals (not available on Wednesdays) were very good. Check in and out were easy: I arrived late and the room key was on the reception desk. I left early and a simple breakfast was left for me in the reception area. I will certainly come again.

Reception lady was very welcoming. Bar staff and restaurant service was very helpful Room was super clean. Beautifully presented. Bathroom was spacious. Views were lovely. Close to the cable car and hiking. Restaurant at the hotel was lovely. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was included in our stay it was the best we have had in our Switzerland holiday. The location was amazing, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a very homely feel to it. Perfect value for money. The hotel is dated but I didn't think that was a bad thing. We went as a family of 2 adults and 2 children and it had everything we needed. Free parking, Free Wi-Fi, Continental breakfast and amazing views. I would definitely stay here again if I was to return to kandersteg.
