Great location on the outskirts of town with a lovely view from the room. There is a restaurant in the facility and a full breakfast was included with the stay. All staff we met had a positive attitude and were very friendly. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was good. The pancake maker wasn't working and the person who was 'filling up' the food went promptly to tell someone else and he came and took the machine apart. The check in staff were very friendly. When we arrived, we asked if there was a unit with a microwave and he apologized as they were upgrading the units and the one assigned to us didn't have one. The building was kept very neat and clean; people emptying the garbage cans..... Tim Horton's nearby so that we could grab a bite to eat for dinner. Excellent stay.

The courthouse hotel is in a great neighbourhood. It’s peaceful and has a wonderful view of the lake. There is a wonderful grocery store right because the hotel Getting around the city is easy and there are fun places close as well

The city seemed clean and safe.

The city seemed clean and safe. There are many familiar box stores and it had a Swiss Chalet which we enjoy. The landscape is picturesque. Kakabak Falls is half an hour away and we went there. The roads seem pretty well laid out so it was easy to find where we were going.

Thunder Bay is a lovely place.

Thunder Bay is a lovely place. We liked the waterfront area, Sleeping Giant Park, Thunder Mountain and for food we liked Anchor and Ore, Lot 66 and Sweet North Bakery. We highly recommend Thunder Bay for a weekend jaunt and visit.

Ugh, Thunder Bay, Ontario, is seriously a letdown.

Ugh, Thunder Bay, Ontario, is seriously a letdown. I went there once and it was just so boring; there's nothing to do! The weather was gloomy and the scenery was pretty depressing, to be honest. I wouldn't recommend visiting this place, unless you like being disappointed. Just avoid it and save yourself the time and money.

Thunder Bay is very beautiful for nature lovers and people...

Thunder Bay is very beautiful for nature lovers and people who love great scenery. Very multi cultural and the people are friendly and accommodating. Most all the stores found in Toronto are there. If you want a great burger try Burger Barn. Not top mich to do on a Sunday evening around town but when the Art Gallery opens up as well as Costco coming to town the variety will increase.

We had a nice visit!

We had a nice visit! Although the parking is a little weird at the hotel, but we were fine. Also since our visit was during Summer, the AC was not enough for the whole place. However, we were gone most of the day, so we survived! We will definitely come back at Sleeping giant BNB for accommodation. Kalabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park are a few of our favorites! Also the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Natl Park. :) Mount McKay is also a nice place yo visit! :)

I have stayed at this hotel many times as you can tell from my many reviews. This time I was put in room 503 which was a two room suite overlooking Lake Superior and The Sleeping Giant. Lovely view and soon to be renovated room. They have started their renovations and will soom be doing the rooms. This will make this great hotel even better. They now include breakfast with the room price making it even better value for money. I always recommend this place to everyone.

BUT BECAUSE I HAD NO CREDIT CARD WAD REFUSED ROOM WE DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM VANCOUVER ON THE ISLAND BACK TO MY HOME TOWN AND USED MY VISA DEBIT CARD AT 5 OTHER MOTELS THEY ACCEPTED IT BUT FOR SOME REASON ONLY IN THUNDER BAY DID WE GET REFUUSED THIS BOOKING AND MOST OF REST WENT THRU BOOKING .COM THIS SHOULD OF NEVER HAPPEN MY RESERVATION GOT CANCELED AND WE HAD TO SPEND THE NIGHT SLEEPING IN A TRUCK STOP IN OUR CAR WITH OUR DOG

I loved that this is a historical building. It made the visit very unique, and I was happy that it wasn't just another generic, boring hotel. The staff that I interacted with were also very nice and curtious, even when their computer systems were slow. The breakfasts were also good for a continental breakfast. There was actual HOT FOOD, compared to other hotels where the breakfasts are cold. Overall, it was great.

I didn't like the area. Constantly being begged on. Parking a real issue. Construction had all the streets closed. Apartment was bare bones. Bathroom bare bones. TP holder gone. One very small window, no A/C. I do feel I got what I paid for. It was cheap, but not enjoyable. Another older couple had a very hard time with the stairs and the accommodations.

Great hotel, great food in their restaurant. Very clean. Staff is polite. I would stay there again. No worry of bed bugs like a couple of past comments. Dont let them discourage a decision. I almost did, but I'm very glad I didn't listen to the negative feedback. Thanks
