The breakfast from the restaurant downstairs was super affordable and delicious. The facility was lovely, and the staff were so kind and helpful. We enjoyed every bit of our stay and had everything we needed for the time we were there.

Hosts were very welcoming. The unit is well equipped, very spacious, and clean. The continental breakfast excellent. Set in a peaceful rural location we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds outside the window.

Easy to find, not far out of Port Alberni. Very quiet and our cabin was spotless with lots of space. Well equipped mini kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee machine, bowls, plates, mugs. Naomi kindly gave us a chopping board and knives. Best to bring own cutlery, which I’d forgotten! Naomi’s advice and knowledge of the area and the drive to Tofino was invaluable. She was so friendly and welcoming. Close to Sproat Lake for safe swimming in an idyllic location.

I traveled alone and really just needed to sleep before the morning departure by boat to Bamfield, so for the first time in my life, I stayed in a dormitory. For 43 dollars, it more than served its purpose. But I chose this hostel mainly because it is also a cultural facility that was converted from a church. Its location near the harbor and its place in the local Art District make this place also unique. But its biggest charm is added by the owners who decided that the house they live in will also be a place of meeting and culture. I attended one concert and it was a really pleasant experience. Not only because of the music but also from meeting the owners, really kind and inspirative people. Otherwise, the hostel is well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Parking right in front of the building. I liked Port Alberni, so I will return here with my family. We will definitely be happy to stay at Chars Landing.
