There are many places to visit in Barrie: the lake, many hiking and walking trails throughout the city. Access is easy to get to with a car. The Georgian Mall is very clean and spacious to shop or browse.

As contrary on the web site, there was no yogurt nor fruits...

As contrary on the web site, there was no yogurt nor fruits at the breakfast. The pool heater was broken and the water temperature was 15 degrees. Although I advice twice the reception about this, nothing was done to solve this issue during my 4 nights stay. The toilet next to the entrance were kept lock all the time and we could not use it. There were people smoking PUT (marihuana) all around the hotel, next their room and the smell was horrible and disgusting. Worst hotel I have been this year. Not worth the price.

We booked the room only because it said there was no...

We booked the room only because it said there was no cancellation fees. We got there and noticed not one car was in the parking lot. A homeless person was staking out our vehicle while we checked the room’s cleanliness. After seeing the room, we chatted with the clerk which was very rude as we asked to cancel. He said it couldn’t be cancelled and to call bookings.com. When booking with this site, it clearly said ‘can cancel anytime with no cancellation fee). I am very disappointed and would not recommend this site.

The city itself was fine.

The city itself was fine. It seems to have a lot of activities. However, I did not sleep well due to the mattress and because the room was hot. So my enjoyment was diminished due to my sleeplessness. I wish I had stayed elsewhere and perhaps I would have enjoyed my stay much better.

Beautiful city and waterfront.

Beautiful city and waterfront. A lot of street construction going on but traffic still flowed pretty well. Restaurants are fabulous with terrific food and service. We ate at the Mandarin all you can eat and Flashback was a good affordable breakfast.

Wilma has trained the best staff in Ontario. This is our favorite Barrie Hotel. Many thanks to all of the expert professional employees. It was interesting to have a room with two bunk beds as well as a Queen size bed in a separate room. The temperature throughout the Hotel was perfect. The swimming pool water was warm and inviting. Going to McRae Point Provincial Park for June 14 weekend and will drop by to see Wilma on Sunday.

Spacious, well appointed apartment in a quiet residential street close to historic Barrie downtown. Superb location. Comfortable bed. Air conditioning that worked. Powerful shower with plenty of hot water. This is a gem of a place. Highly recommended. The hosts could not be more helpful. Plenty of off street parking.

The hotel staff was very accommodating. I had a personal issue. They were great to help me with my reservations. The room posted online was not dog-friendly. The hotel front desk was awesome in helping me change to a pet-friendly room. The parking is easy and accessible to any part of the hotel.

Stayed at this hotel to attend a work meeting the next day. Staff were very friendly at the front desk. Room was clean but the furniture was a little worn but the breakfast was very good. The pool was nice and clean. I would definitely stay here again. Very good value.
