Had an amazing stay, the place is in the middle of a big green garden where we saw toucans every morning, met parrots and ate fresh grapefruits. The staff were all super friendly. It was a small walk to the center but San Ignacio is small so this wasnt a problem at all

Location was great, right on the main street. There are supermarkets, restaurants, tour companies around. We were concerned that it might be noisy at night as the hotel is right in the centre of town. The noise levels didn't bother us and was not an issue for us.

Authentic Belize and great home base for Mayan ruins and caves. Easy to get around with a car. Lots of small groceries but don't expect american style grocery. Going to Xuna and cave tubing was a one of a kind experience. We tried for 2 days to go to ATM but it was closed due to rain.

Such a cute little town to use as you adventure base. There are so many different activities and stores that it’s impossible to see and do everything in even a week. Everyone in town is so friendly and I never felt unsafe, even during the late night block party I stumbled on. Watch out for the casino though. They do not like it if you win anything, and they will make sure to finagle the money back. For us it was the ribbon “security” band on the US tender— after we won a few hundred dollars and then started loosing, they made sure to bring to our attention they “couldn’t take the only hundreds we had left” because of the ribbon, even though they prefer and want you to pay in US Dollars to begin with. They made sure this happened only after our winnings were down so that we left in the negative. Other than the casino, which I highly recommend you avoid, this is such a quaint cute little Hispanic town with the friendliest people.

It’s a mountainous area and remind me of my country, Haiti. We went to the downtown market, not much for tourists. Also, they don’t speak much English over there compared to other cities but it’s a cool place.

San Ignacio has enough for one to two days of activities for...

San Ignacio has enough for one to two days of activities for a typical tourist. The Mayan Temple complexes are the main attraction (the one in San Ignacio is easy to reach but less interesting than the others a bit further away). The Iguana conservation project and chocolate making demonstration are worthwhile if you have time. The drive from the airport is not scenic, but it's simple to navigate.

This is a great town in the heart of the Cayo (Belize). Touted as a "backpackers destination" I consider this a must-visit for those visiting Belize as the residents are friendly and really give a taste for what parts of Belizian culture can be like.

San Ignacio was a great location to explore the jungle and...

San Ignacio was a great location to explore the jungle and many different sites. The ATM (cave site) and several Mayan ruins are nearby and we even went into Guatemala for a day trip to see TiKal which is one of the largest Mayan ruins.

This place is right in downtown and walkable to restaurants, bars and activities (like Cahal Pech Mayan Ruins) and directly opposite a shuttle transfer company we used. The host Hugo was very welcoming and easy going! Great value for money for the rooms and the shared kitchen is well equipped. Good aircon in the rooms and a hot and powerful shower. It’s also very close to the market which was very lively on a Saturday with amazing and cheap local food.

Nice hostel around san ignacio (close to few supermarkets and ~15min from town center). Staff is very kind and supportive! Trips (e.g. ATM cave) and shuttles available. Kitchen with lots of equipment as well as nice in- and outdoor relaxing areas. Small dorms with lockers and nice big bathrooms. Perfect place for a stay in san ignacio!

We had the best time here, the staff are so welcoming and really make you feel like part of the family and are always happy to help with any questions - special shoutout to Paydro and Ethan! Location is perfect, so central and close to everything you’ll need. Rooftop has a bar and hammocks to chill out or play beer pong.

Great views, wonderful stuff and lovely restaurant to grab a drink or bit at (pricier than in the city - and bad music, but the view makes up for it). We also booked the ATM cave tour via them, which was really amazing. Well-organized, great food and the best tour guide!
