Although one can state that Teresópolis has already become a big city, it hosts one of the most impressive and fantastic Brazilian Nature Park, the Parque Nacional da Serra dos Órgãos - PARNASO , regarded as a paradise for those who are definitely fond of climbing, trekking and even a light ride into the park. Located only 100km far from Rio de Janeiro, the city can be fairly covered in a day-off from Rio, especially if you leave very early, in order to optimize and enjoy the ride the most. Teresópolis is always a very pleasant destiny while in Rio.

Teresópolis is a beautiful mountain town. It's quaint and something like a movie! I absolutely loved the market and the mall! Its a different vibe from Rio and such a place of relaxation and beauty!

The rooms are very comfortable and have a pleasant view over the valley. Breakfast was delicious. And at first the staff seemed unhappy that my Portuguese wasn't great... but then they brought out a brilliant guy who was very happy to explain everything in English.
