Boasting a rooftop pool and located 500 metres from Copacabana Beach, Americas Copacabana Hotel offers accommodation in Rio de Janeiro.

I stayed at the Othon/Orton before. Supposedly 5 star🫣😳. This is 3/4 star but was clean/tidy not worn and decrepit. But more importantly the staff are amazing. Alex - such a intuitive and helpful guy Matheus and Miguel. Both made sure I found good restaurants and tours. The Maracana/helicopters over Rio. If you want pure luxury-then No. if you want a nice, clean place we’d with people who look after you then this is the one. Thank you guys

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Prodigy Hotel Santos Dumont is connected to Santos Dumont Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, 900 metres from Baía de Guanabara.

The view from the terrace is awesome, really a gift. The pool is comfortable and the calling system for the waiters works well. The staff is well trained and very cooperative. The accommodation is good for a short stay and the location favours your movement as it is very close to downtown and to the south zone of the city where most of attractions are located.

FAQs about hotels in Rio de Janeiro

Sassy City of Samba

Home of samba, Brazil’s 2nd largest city is sassy, seductive and spectacular. The Rio Carnival is legendary the world over for outrageous costumes and infectious rhythms.

Host of the 2014 World Cup final in Maracanã stadium and the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics, Rio de Janeiro is forward-thinking. High rises line Ipanema beach and you can find dozens of rollerbladers on the promenades at any time.

The hottest spot is Copabacana, a great place to try biscoito globo, a typical Rio beach snack. Sip a caipirinha here while the sun sets over the bay and mountains – unforgettable. It doesn’t end there though. Clubbing in Rio is fantastic and ranges from techno to traditional bossa nova. Bohemian beats can be found in Santa Teresa and Lapa, whose trams pass over a double-arched viaduct.

Overlooking all this from Corcovado mountain is iconic Christ the Redeemer, welcoming the world to Rio with arms outstretched. Take the funicular railway up to this statue on the edge of lush Tijuca Park for incredible views. Accessed by cable car, Sugar Loaf Mountain is also not to be missed.

Rio de Janeiro Airport is well linked to the ‘Marvellous City’, but traffic can be manic, so leave enough time to reach it from your Rio hotel, apartment or hostel booked through Booking.com.

Rio was very touristy and vibrant.

Rio was very touristy and vibrant. However, because of this, it was often crowded and there were long lines to see the popular tourist sights. The area is quite big so if you are staying in a safe nice area, be prepared for long pricey Ubers to the city (50 to 60 minutes during peak times).

The first main feature of Rio is the dramatic setting of ocean, bay, mountains and tropical forest: perhaps the most beautiful city in the world. The most important feature of the Brazilian culture and the people: they are extremely friendly and positive in their outlook, and they seek and find ways to enjoy life on a daily basis. It really helps if you can learn some basis phrases and words of engagement in Portuguese. There are many sites and historical places to see, and terrific restaurants to choose from. Carnaval time is especially exciting, and a night of visiting the samba school competition in one of the 3 days before Ash Wednesday is worth the price: the best show in the world. The only downside is street crime: smart phones need to be hidden except when in tour groups, or restaurants, and no jewelry should be worn. Keep passports and driver's license in the hotel safe, and carry cash and one credit card in multiple pockets. Only use cross body bags for extra items.

Rio is incredible as you know.

Rio is incredible as you know. Sugar loaf better in the sunset. Christ was a mess around 10am. Go early and no matter how long is the wait to get the train, do not get the van half way. you will wait longer. Get the train. Rio city centre is a must and you can get your goodies over there wjere is cheap. Go to Uruguiana St. In Ipanema, go to Bar do Adao and eat pastel. Right in front you will see a little place, the best (THE BEST) acai in Rio is there.

Currently the Rio experience is a money grab.

Currently the Rio experience is a money grab. Everyone is over changing you for goods and services. You would do better to travel 🧳 to Thailand 🇹🇭 and save more. However if you have money 💴 to throw away Rio is your spot. The Brazilian meals are average and they don’t believe in favor at all. The fast food places are terrible. 😞 The staff in fast food Burger 🍔 king, Mcdonald’s and Subway should be terminated for terrible food 🍲 presentation. Where is Elon Musk …, I have currently lived in Rio two years…🤮 Yellow taxi 🚕 is a cheap way to save money 💴 Uber is ok if you enjoy seeing the price before stepping inside the car.

The hotel is in a great location at Ipanema if that's where you want to be. Right on the beach, very close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops. A short walk to the metro. Great location is you want to be close to the beach, but easy enough to get around to other locations in Rio. Walking distance to Copacabana. The breakfasts were just amazing. A great spread and the staff are all great. Shout out to Marcio and Thiago at the from desk who were so helpful. This was our first visit and location perfect for that.

Nothing. It wan an absolute nightmare. The house keeping only came every day to make the bed and go. They didn't even sweep the floor or clean the bathroom. it was so disgusting. Couldn't even give us tissue for the toilet. what a disgrace. This place should be shut down. I have come a few times to Rio and stayed in Copacabana palace hotel, Miramar by Windsor, JW Marriott Hotel Rio de JaneiroCopacabana, Sofitel Rio De Janeiro Ipanema and NEVER have I BEEN treated soooo POORLY.

The location to Copacabana Beach is brilliant and it's only a 15 minute walk to Ipanema. Alloro, the hotel restaurant is lovely as is the breakfast should you opt in as part of your stay. The pool bar has a great view but is very small.

The room had a large king size bed and single bed so it was very spacious. The hotel is located in close proximity to both Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. There is also a supermarket located down the road.
