Reception staff is very professional and helpfull. Rooms are Huge, beds are big, comfortable with 4 pillows each. Clean Sheets, towels and the whole place in general. Location - just across the beach. Breakfast is the best part. Fruits, fresh juices, anything that comes at your mind including tapioke. Tapiokes are my "take away" and i try to make it at home now as the ladies made it in Open space and you can follow the preparation. If Ever i come back to Fortaleza, i Will be happy to stay in Mareiro.

The location couldn't be better. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were functional and comfortable. The hotel is modern and well cared. The breakfast were excellent. The pool and roof bar were beautiful. Special thanks to Milena and Alice (If I remember their names) who cleaned our room and to Valdemir, who was working serving the breakfast. I used the gym 2 times and the facility is great. Even the option for late check out was fantastic. Our flight back was 22:25, paying extra for check out at 18:00 was perfect for us.

Sea, Sun and Samba

The 5th largest city of Brazil couldn’t be less than its bigger sisters. With beautiful beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean and a well-known party atmosphere, Fortaleza is one the preferred touristic destinations for both Brazilians and foreigners. A busy nightlife and a growing number of restaurants and activities in the lead up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup make this city an ideal retreat.

Discovered by Spaniards, colonized by Portuguese and also briefly by the Dutch, Fortaleza is a vibrant city and capital of the Ceará State. The city’s identity is strongly marked by the writer José de Alencar, which with his novel Iracema inspired names and statues spread all over Fortaleza.

Enjoy the typical Forró music and dance, walk along Beira Mar promenade, and eat in one of the popular barracas shacks. Don’t miss the old colonial buildings, like the José de Alencar Theatre, Fortaleza's Cathedral or the Forte de Nossa Senhora da Assunção.

This is my second time in Fortaleza, I really enjoy the city...

This is my second time in Fortaleza, I really enjoy the city, the people are friendly and I feel safe travelling alone. I got around the city using Uber which was very reliable. I really enjoyed walking along the beach front and shopping at the street market. I went on tours to four major beaches which were fantastic.

I have visited around 20 cities in Brazil and Fortaleza is now one of my favourite. It was my first time here and I just loved the atmosphere in the city. Along one of the beaches there is a long path with so much going on, different street vendors and music and bars and ice cream shops. Then the nightlife is great with a lot of different bars and clubs and many of them located in a similar area so its easy to bounce around. I definetly want to visit Fortaleza again!

Went to see a soccer match at castelao stadium. Take a hired car or taxi to come and go. Do NOT buy seats in the visiting team fan section. They keep you locked up in the stadium for nearly an hour after the match

The main city beach has become quite pricey and is entirely crowded by boring high rise concrete and glass hotels with overpriced rooms and apartment towers for the rich. Eateries on the waterfront are expensive wanna-be American luxury joints with wapa-wapa music and mediocre food. The beach is nice, clean and well policed, but I miss the old style barracas where you could get grilled fish or a bucket of boiled crabs with a dowel. There are a lot of better priced and higher quality restaurants and hotels around town, but you need some local knowledge to find them and to stay out of the dangerous neighborhoods. Getting around town is easy with Uber or taxis, but the traffic can be nerve wracking, especially at rush hour.

Amazing city but get a tour guide, our guide Milton knew all about this town. You must visit beaches with hour away, don't go over two hours drive because roads are nit very comfortable. Thai is why I do recommend a tour guide like Milton.

The hotel was absolutely as expected for what we needed which was for a night after arriving from the airport. It is similar to a TravelLodge in UK. Compact clean room. Good WIFI. Good staff at reception who were on call 24 hrs. Very good buffet breakfast with good selection of choice.

Ecco Hotel is very close to Praia Iracema and Beira Mar. If you like to walk close to the beach it is perfect. Also you will find many restaurants and shops. Possibility to rent a bike or similar in the beach. The room was very clean, and the breakfast had many options for food.
