This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. We struggled to find a hotel of this level in the area, that ticked all of our boxes. I was initially concerned that we might be a bit out of the way/we would run out of things to do but this was not the case. We booked this hotel for 3 nights after a few weeks in the city to relax before returning home, and could not have asked for anything more. Breakfast was lovely and offered almost everything we could ask for. Dinner each night was also gorgeous with a suitable menu. There was plenty of choice for us on the three nights we stayed, but the menu could get repetitive after a week so that's something to consider. We used the concierge to arrange a boat trip which was amazing. There was only two of us, so I was concerned the prices might be too high but that wasn't the case. The shops on site were lovely, and nice to have on the doorstep. The staff were great, and couldn't do enough for us. I would absolutely return to this hotel

Angra is a good place to stay for 1-3 days before going to...

Angra is a good place to stay for 1-3 days before going to Ilha Grande. If you stay in an apartment in Piratas Mall, as we did, you are 5 blocks away from the Bus station, where you can take a bus to Paraty. And also 25 minutes away from the Port, Santa Lucia, where you can buy excursions to the islands, which are beautiful. I did not go to the beach in Angra, just took a boat excursion (excellent) and went to Paraty.

Paradise started here!

Paradise started here! I guess there is no other description to the place. Where can I start it? Its millions of islands and beaches with foaming greenish water? The forest that ends up right at the beach? Or all the fauna you can find just swimming in ANY beach (like turtles, fish, crabs, corals, you name it!) This place is just wonderful!

we spent 2 nights at vallen's hotel, it was perfect! it is located in the center, 2 steps from the sea. Felipe is welcoming, warm, you can count on him to brighten up your stay! Fully equipped, washing machine, dryer, comfortable beds, spacious showers. If you are traveling from the other side of the world, this is the perfect place to recharge the batteries and start afresh. It feels like home! We know where to sleep when we return!

Everything was excellent; location, seclusion and the staff were great. We didn't take a tour only because we enjoyed the hotel, pool and private beach so much! There are free kayaks to explore the local mangroves and we even saw wild sea turtles which was amazing! Although you have to venture quite far into the mangroves to see them.

Turtles everywhere, all the time. Kayak for free is also a big plus! Breakfast was really good throughout. And the view is just incredible! For those saying that there are too many stairs, yes there are, but every other place in Angra dos Reis is the same as you're on a hill and next to the water.
