I have always had a soft spot for Sandanski since I was a child. As someone who loves the city, I'd like to share my thoughts from a tourist's perspective, in hopes that the tourism industry can benefit from some constructive feedback. While the city is blessed with abundant natural resources, it falls short in terms of human management and tourist services. Instead of leveraging and enlarging its natural attractions like the park to draw in tourists, the focus is more on excessive construction around these areas while neglecting the existing infrastructure. For example, while there are mineral water springs and open swimming pools in the city center, they are surrounded by littered spaces and unattractive buildings above. Additionally, an abandoned swimming pool for high dives sits neglected next to them. This is not appealing and pushes tourists like me to pay 23 euros to use the Hotel Sandanski swimming pool. I don't find that very reasonable. The food quality in the restaurants in the city center is poor, despite the fact that the area produces the most delicious fruits and vegetables. The service is also unsatisfactory. Would it be possible to renovate and reopen the abandoned Baikal restaurant to provide at least one decent dining option without the risk of dissatisfaction? Overall, the city's potential as a tourist destination is being overlooked. This is evident from the moment you enter the city, as you can immediately notice the beautiful, unique trees alongside the broken streets.

Great city with an amazing park, playgrounds and fun stuff to do for kids. Pedestrian only high street with many boutique shops and restaurants. Excellent base to explore nearby Melnik, Rupite and Rozhen Monastery as well as the rest of the landmarks in the area.

The city park is really great! It is big enough for long walks. It's great maintained and is really beautiful. The kids were excited about the ducks, geese and swans there too. There is a restaurant on the lake inside the park which was great - quick service, delicious food and a great location.

The town is beautiful and the centrtal part is very well maintained. I particularly liked the park with the lake. There were beautiful trees in the park not so usual for the country and in the lake there were white and black swans. The restaurtants I visited were not too expensive and the food was good.

There is plenty to see, archeological museum, sites downtown. Sandanski is also a spa, with hot water springs. It might help to have a spacious parking near the center not to roam streets for a free parking space. There are plenty of fast food places and ice cream shops!

Sandanski is a modern City with local and inter City bus connection as well as Taxi service. It has some excavation sites dating back to the roman inhabitants. Lots of places to eat out. Sandanski has an average of 2450 hours of sunshine. Many vineries in the area. Thermal bath locations within 40 km Friendly locals.
