I actually feel more Australian after staying at the Riverside Motel. "Listening to the Corella's on the banks of the Murray at sunset is a cerebral experience I will not forget" Only moments after checking in, I was swimming in the Murray River. Located literally on the banks of the Murray River, this tastefully renovated motel is my favourite place to stay in NSW, ACT & VIC. I am a travelling salesman and stay at many hotels and motels. I have never felt the need to leave a review, however this motel deserves patronage and recognition. From the minimalist architecture, spacious room, private balcony overlooking the river...what was not to love....The motel is under renovation and I look forward to my next stay and seeing this hidden gem reach it's potential. Visit the art deco Hotel Australia for a look back into the real Australia. I stay at alot of places...and this place felt like a holiday.

We booked a modern cabin (no 14), at the top of the hill. Rooms were spacious, light and airy and had french windows and patio overlooking a vineyard and wedding garden. The cellar door, happy hour in the wine bar, and later the winery restaurant were all first rate. A complimentary bottle of white and a cheese-plate in the fridge made later evening on the cabin patio a delight.

Beautiful gardens and spotlessly clean apartment which is very spacious. The included breakfast was delicious with juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cooked eggs and bacon. Short drive into Main Street. Would definitely stay again - hopefully soon.

The grounds were very well kept. Room was spotless and serviced daily. The owners were lovely. Unfortunately it was winter so too cold to use the pool. We would definitely stay again.

Sitting on the verandah watching the Murray River slowly...

Sitting on the verandah watching the Murray River slowly flow past was the respite I needed. Riverside is a great peaceful and picturesque location. Our room was well equipped, and the bathroom was clean and modern. We were busy all weekend with a wedding across the river in Corowa, but Sunday afternoon, with all duties and celebrations concluded, we could relax and enjoy this lovely location. I am keen to return for an extended stay, as there is so much to explore and enjoy around here

A real find!

A real find! Enjoyable walks along the banks of the Murray River and delicious meals at the local Fish cafe. Everyone was very friendly and happy to chat. A small town that gave us a memorable experience. Riverside motel has an extensive grassed area beside the river with cooking bays and table/ chair sets. The view from our room was very peaceful. Ver close to Rutherglen wineries.

Ver close to Rutherglen wineries. Not too much by way of eateries after hours but the Pub does great food and Corowa, just over the river in NSW, has a few more options. Plenty of lunchtime places to eat and would highly recommend Parker Pies in Rutherglen.

What a beautiful town situated on the stunning Murray River.

What a beautiful town situated on the stunning Murray River. Great food at The Old Empire pub and The River Fish and Chip Co. Surrounded by multiple wineries and a stone’s throw to Corowa and the NSW state boarder, Wahgunyah is truly a great place to stay.
