Sydney was perfect, we stayed in Circular Quay which was central to all the places we wanted to visit. From here you can hop on a bus, train, tram or ferry or walk to your destination, no car is needed. Just use your credit card to tap on and off. There’s also a lot of places to choose from to have your meals with plenty of activities to keep you occupied. Special mention to Bennies cafe at Circular Quay, friendly service, generous portions of food, reasonably priced and great food. Visit the Rocks, especially the weekend markets, have a high tea at The Tea Cosy, go for a walk around the botanical gardens. Rainy day? No problem, catch a train to Town hall to visit the heritage Queen Victoria Building, afternoon tea at Manon Brasserie or buy some yummy macarons at La Belle Mietté. Watch a movie at Events Cinema or IMAX. Sunny day? Hop on a ferry to go to Luna Park, Manly Beach (dinner at Fins and Ribs) or Bondi beach. Watch something at the Opera House (we saw a ballet), climb the bridge. So much to do. We stayed for 5 days (4 nights) and still couldn’t see everything.

Beautiful city but transport was so expensive, $60 flat rate...

Beautiful city but transport was so expensive, $60 flat rate from the airport for taxis/uber is insanely overpriced for such a short trip. When comparing to other cities it is a bit more pricey in all aspects but it is a lovely place. The greenery in the city was a lovely change to most cities! Some beautiful places to stay and eat!

I came with my daughter and grand daughter to see the ballet at Sydney Opera House. It was a great day and we love the business of the opera house area. Upset that Myers and David Jones did not do any Christmaa window displays. Greatly appreciate having a cap on taxi fares to CBD.

So much to do and see.

So much to do and see. We stayed for 4 nights and were on the go the whole time. We are visiting Australia for 6 weeks and kicked off the trip in Sydney. We would definitely come back to this city. The hop on hop off bus both the red and blue routes were a great way to tour around the city. Lots of transportation modes and easy to use, we even managed a ferry trip. Kayaking in Sydney Harbour was a highlight. You also have to view the bridge and opera house at night, a great perspective. Went to Bondi Beach on the Blue Route. A quick dip just because.

Staying at The Great Southern Hotel is one of my favourite...

Staying at The Great Southern Hotel is one of my favourite things to do because it is in the best location to hop on the light rail and go to the CBD and all the shops and restaurants. There are plenty of cafes and eating places in the area within walking distance of the hotel and the rear door of the hotel takes you straight into Market City which has lots of food places and shops. Lovely spacious rooms with plenty of amenities. Thank you.

Hotel is a nice combination of old and new decor, classy. Staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to help. In a good central location within CBD, lots of activities close by and quality restaurants in vicinity. Breakfast until 11am which I liked as I'm not a "morning" person (some hotels I've stayed in previously stopped breakfast at 9:30am forcing an early rise and rushed shower etc to make it in time to eat). I'm a wheelchair user, "easy access" room was spacious and well designed.

A great little spot in Sydney cbd. The staff go above and beyond for the guest which is rare in hotels these days. The facilities are modern, the mini bar is well stocked, the rooms are cleaned well and regularly. The room service is very tasty. Hotel bar is hip. I will be coming back in my monthly trips to Sydney
