We booked last minute but were welcomed by owner to a beautiful Villa in a fabulous location right in town it was so quiet with a Wallaby in the back yard very small kitchen that worked great huge bedroom and bathroom with laundry that we didnt use would love to come back and stay longer.

This modern, spacious accommodation was light, bright immaculately clean and well furnished. The very comfortable bed and quiet rural location gave us a good night's sleep before our flight from Hobart airport only 20 minutes drive away and the price was very good for this quality of accommodation. Alan and Karen were very welcoming and generous hosts providing essentials and treats in the fridge, including fresh eggs from their chickens.

Richmond is a beautiful town with that lovely old world feel. Gorgeous shops to browse, spend, eat and Di coffee! Loved it. The Hotel has been tastefully renovated retaining the old world feel but with ‘new’facilities. We had a unit at the back of the hotel, no noise and completely private. Great for car parking and unloading the car. Facilities just great, spotlessly clean, huge bedroom and bed, great bathroom, large lounge room, tea and coffee making facilities, large tv. Everything you need. Oh reverse aircon so you won’t be hot or cold no matter what it is doing outside! A fabulous stay.

So many things to see and do, even just a wander through the...

So many things to see and do, even just a wander through the small shops was fascinating. The history is also really interesting and there is a historic walk - maps available - which tells much more of the area. As well as all of this, there are wineries and other providore venues to visit.

A great place to start when you fly into Hobart.

A great place to start when you fly into Hobart. Just over 20 minutes away from the airport. This small town is packed with historic sites, shops, and eateries, and surrounded by an excellent wine region. Riversdale Estate would be top of our list! Everyone was welcoming and helpful.

Richmond was a lovely stopover, full of history and old...

Richmond was a lovely stopover, full of history and old school charm. We had a car which made it easy to get around. Richmond Bridge was beautiful, a great place to enjoy coffee and watch the ducks and time pass you by. Richmond Gaol was fascinating, reading all about the early days and life as a convict. Loads of little boutiques and cafes.

Richmond is a very pretty town and a great place to stay in, if all you want to do is relax or day trips to various natural attractions. Hobart is within arm's reach if you are driving, so need for city action can also be easily fulfilled. Being a quiet town though, food and drinks may be difficult to find after 8pm. There are great cafes and walking lanes for the daytime. My husband enjoyed playing golf in the mornings while I would walk around town. We would then take advantage of the long summer days and drive out - Eastern Coastal Drive, Mt Field National Park, Hobart MONA Museum, Bruny Island, Maria Island etc.

Richmond, Tasmania, is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking a picturesque and peaceful escape. The town’s well-preserved Georgian architecture, historic landmarks, and local attractions make it a unique and enriching experience. We have visited Richmond several times and it never disappoints. Richmond Botanical Co, opposite the maize, is our favourite shop. Richmond Botanicals Co. supplies a range of unique luxury Tasmanian giftware, including hand poured Tasmanian inspired Botanical soy candles, skin care products and much more.

Mill House Cottage is a lovely property located next to the historic bridge in Richmond. It was our last night in Tasmania and we chose it as from there it was just a 15 minute drive to the airport. It had everything we needed for an overnight stay including a breakfast which included delicious home made bread, local ham and eggs. It was clean and comfortable. We were sad not to have had more time to explore the lovely town of Richmond.

The hosts are extremely thoughtful. The property was beautifully kept and well looked after. They really know what they're doing. I couldn't believe how well stocked it was too, I barely needed to bring anything. Check in was a breeze and the key was very easy to access. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely hideaway in Richmond.

Beautiful cottage for our stay. Kitchen well equipped with what we needed. Would have liked a microwave though. Everything else was great. Loved the shower and the bathroom accessories. Lovely comfy bed. Tastefully decorated cottage. Good location to cafes and shops in Richmond.

Stayed in the Convict room. Comfortable bed. Good amenities. Spacious room. Extra blanket in cupboard. Has a small fridge, kettle and toaster. Out the back of the hotel, there is good access to the bar and dining room with fireplace. Meals were huge and delicious.
