A picturesque town with good access to the Gippsland lakes.

A picturesque town with good access to the Gippsland lakes. The golf course is a lovely course and the Hot Springs are a must do. The pub serves up great food overlooking the lake. We really enjoyed our stay and will go back with a group of friends for a few days of relaxation and golf on the many nearby courses.

Really beautiful spot shame about the over development all too many special seaside villages turned into resorts for the rich who only spend a short time there build huge homes that block out views and don't allow public access to the best viewing locations.

Metung is a beautiful, relatively unspoiled coastal village...

Metung is a beautiful, relatively unspoiled coastal village situated on the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria. With the Metung Hot Springs and Golf Course just a few minutes' drive away, relax in the stunning surroundings amid abundant wildlife. The local pub is packed with character, as are the cafes and quaint shops.

If you are staying mid-week, you are limited for places to...

If you are staying mid-week, you are limited for places to eat in the evening. The Metung Hotel is open and fortunately it serves a wide selection of great meals and is very popular. Make sure you book a table to avoid being disappointed. The walks along the boardwalks around Metung is worthwhile. Well located for a short trip to Lakes Entrance and Painesville.

The location is just wonderful for a pleasant relaxing...

The location is just wonderful for a pleasant relaxing civilized holiday especially if you love natural beauty, fishing boating, walking, sailing or just chilling out. If you want rock bands, rap music and noisy bars go elsewhere. Great for families and couples.

Maybe it is busier at other times, but we found the village to be very low-key and peaceful - just the type of stay we were after. an excellent coffee shop - eatery and great meals at the pub - especially the local fish. tried catching our own but no luck - maybe next time! We are not a young couple but we were able to easily walk down to the village from our motel - Metung Waters- and also did some walks along the boardwalk. Visited the Metung Hot Springs (unfortunately it rained that day).

This was an exceptionally comfortable apartment for two persons. We especially liked the good quality bed, bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen was equipped with good quality utensils such as a good knives, steam pan and grill pan, that made cooking very pleasant. Metung is a small village but with some good quality restaurants.

it was awesome! the room was not dated, access was easy, even had a place to park our motorcycle undercover. it was also a 2 minute walk to cafes and the Metung Hotel.
