The location was perfect, allowing me to walk straight to my favorite restaurants. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating—when they learned we were celebrating our anniversary, they surprised us with a chocolate that ended up becoming my favorite. They also upgraded our room, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the gym was well-equipped enough to support a variety of workouts.

the property is fantastic. i was late to reply my messages but staff knew exactly what i requested for. 2 single bed on each room and got it on standby on my arrival incase i needed them. the staff were super friendly upon my check in, and also upon my check out i had some issues with my left over things, the receptionist also did more than just helping me retrieve it back. cause her bit of inconveniences but she helped. we were very grateful. the location is superb! bus station just 2 mins away. the bed is the comfiest bed i slept on. the aircon was good. all the amenties in the kitchen is provided ! each room is equipped with large TV. Wifi is GOOD. the bathroom is clean and even provides a nice body wash lemongrass smell which is so relaxing. the lift was good as well. Everything is perfect and i enjoyed my stay very much. they even provide dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and detergent. Everything i need is there we also walked all the way to Queens Victoria Market.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Every member of the team was professional and friendly. We enjoyed a very tasty meal on our last evening at the Lord Lygon bistro next door before a late night flight. The location was good, being close to the city centre but within walking distance of Carlton, Fitzroy and other attractions. We recommend the Brunetti Italian Cafe in Carlton - just a 10 minute walk away.

FAQs about hotels in Melbourne

Buzzy Jewel of Aussie Rules

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.

The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.

Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.

South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.

Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

I absolutely LOVE Melbourne.

I absolutely LOVE Melbourne. The food is great, the city is very easy to navigate, the free tram is fantastic. The city is clean, with plenty of lovely green areas and gardens. It is an eclectic collection of old and new. There are interesting markets within Melbourne, and within an hours drive. I’ve travelled extensively around the world, but Melbourne would have to be one of my favourite cities if not “the” favourite

We arrived on Christmas day; the city was packed with. I wonder what a normal day looks like? Excellent Chinese and South East Asian food is plentiful in the CBD. Southgate was pumping, too. The weather was, predictably, all over the map, but, two sunny, summer days out of 4 we thought acceptable. But who goes to Melbourne for the weather? We caught a highly entertainig magic show at Spiegel Haus downtown, drank cocktails in a Nepalese lounge, tried to buy something, anything at the sales in vain due to the sea of others trying to do the same, strolled arm in arm through the extensive parks opposite the arts center and took the bus to Brunswick Street and wished we had another few days. The more you see, the more you want to see. Melbourne has a very strong pulse!

Went for the test match at MCG; England won! City very walkable but excellent public transport - free in CBD and at weekends in summer - made longer journeys easy. Went to Melbourne Museum, good and National Gallery, also good. Interesting river walks and coastal walks. Beer and food more expensive than UK.

We loved the view from the hotel and being right on the train line. It made it quick and easy (and inexpensive) to get into the city. We hired a GoBoat which was THE BEST experience. It was a relaxing way to experience the city without the chaos of the traffic and people. Highly recommend GoBoating if you visit Melbourne.

So much to explore and fairly easy to get around the city by foot or tram (free travel within set city limits). You can always find something new to see or plan ahead to visit on future trips. The theatre productions are fantastic. We've loved every musical experience we've attended while visiting.

The Puffing Billy railway ride, Mount Dandenong, the Edge experience, and the Great Ocean Road travel to the Twelve Apostles were real fun. Melbourne's great must-do is the Puffing Billy Railway ride; the Edge experience was just alright but I'd prefer Melbourne's nature over that.

Front desk staff were very friendly and accomodating at check in - the hotel is centrally located in the CBD with a short walk down to Melbourne Central and the city, and we found it incredibly handy being close to Flagstaff train station so we could jump on trains and trams with ease. The room was basic but comfortable for a 7 night stay - it had decent amenities and was clean.

Such great value for money, a short 5 min walk to the closest tram into the heart of the CBD. Clean and comfortable apartment, decent size. Enjoyed the quiet and more relaxing feel of this hotel on the edge of the city. It’s a little gem, will definitely be back for future stays in Melbourne.
