The scenery is utterly beautiful. You can't see or hear another building or a main road from inside the retreat cabin and the floor to ceiling windows show of the beautiful Hindmarsh Valley. Kangaroos grazing outside first thing in the morning, the lovely view from the veranda, the birds. I felt completely relaxed and at ease there. The internet worked well most of the time, but when it didn't it wasn't a biggie. I was happy to be away from everything. There is a nice big TV, a comfy bed, the lovely bathroom. The space is beautifully furnished and not overdone. A small galley kitchen with tea, coffee, toaster, microwave and fridge and assorted cutlery and crockery. There is a big BBQ on the veranda. I really enjoyed my 2 nights and will definitely be back.

This place is just perfect! It has everything you need including the outdoor tub which is amazing. Very private. Lots of space to roam and see the gorgeous cows and alpacas. Excellent value for money. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

We absolutely loved the cottage and had a fabulous 5 nights stay in a real home from home. The garden area is beautiful and the verandah a real bonus. It's just a short drive into Port Victor and a great base to explore the rest of the Peninsula. The host Cheryl is fantastic and was absolutely brilliant, nothing too much!

Wow! What a place! I'm so pleased I chose this as a place to stay on my Australian Road Trip. It is a real gem of a find, for a really authentic Aussie rural experience. It was a pleasure to meet with and talk with the host there, he clearly goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome. The "Shed" had everything I needed for a very comfortable, quiet self-catered stay, including the fridge-freezer, shower and toilet in the small buildings a short walk away. It is set on an expansive rural property, with an off-grid feel yet still comfortable and cosy. I loved walking around the grounds, meeting the sheep and alpacas, hearing the frogs from the nearby pond as I went to sleep, and the cacophony of birdsong the next morning. I would like to have stayed longer, to have explored the surrounding rural area further.

Great private location within walking distance from town centre. It was exceptional clean. Kitchen had everything you need including a little guest gift of goodie’s 😁 🍬 Bed was super comfortable. Overall a fantastic place to stay and we would visit again.

Location was great .quiet and peaceful. The accommodation was Exelent. Plenty of room and comfort. It was very clean, with everything you need in the kitchen. I loved strolling down the back yard . Visiting the chocks down the back yard and watching the fish in the pond. The swimming pool was an added bones, but unfortunately to cold to go in. The host was very nice. Thankyou for a wonderful relaxing stay.

Couldn't fault it.

Couldn't fault it. The beaches are amazing, the parks, cafes, things to do. Could never be bored here. Hayborough beach is my favourite by far and the walk to granite island and the island itself was spectacular. It s very easy to get around and most things to do are close enough. Collect shells, layon the beach or if U have a 4wd drive along Goolwa beach
