This property had a well equipped kitchen with more than enough crockery and utensils. Spacious bedrooms and we liked the separate toilet to the shower which is particularly good when travelling with a group. Fabulous view of the waterfront. Easy walk to shops and cafes. Loved the welcoming pack on arrival. Hosts super friendly people and helpful. Property had secured parking and entrance.

Awesome location, right next to the Urangan pier with amazing sunrises on your doorstep. It’s hard not to be a morning person staying here - I was up early every day to watch the sun rise (and set) on the seafront. The walk stretches along the beach for a few kilometres and it’s really beautiful - you might even spot some turtles or dolpins here! Staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful at Oaks. They were truly such a pleasure - a special mention to Manuel and Emma. Incredible apartment, beautifully decorated and a huge space with gorgeous balcony. While I didn’t swim in the pool (I was on tours during the two days I stayed), the outside space is fabulous.

What's not to like?

What's not to like? The place is beautiful and a joy to visit. The restaurants are numerous, the accommodation options are endless, the touristy opportunities are many and the shopping is great! Perhaps the only downside is no different to most other larger coastal towns, that being the (non animal) feral elements about town...😏

Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback...

Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback Whales whether for the juvenials that are people curious (known as August whales) or the Mothers and Calves which arrive from early September through to the end of October. My focus is only on the whales but there are various trips to K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island) either by organised bus tours, self drive or by boat to the West side where kyaking and beach tours plus whale watching in season is available. I travelled to Hervey Bay for the Whale Watching and wasn't disappointed. I took three tours on three different boats and saw whales on all three outings, some very close to the boat. We also saw sea turtles, dolphins and sea birds. The weather was perfect, with mainly sunny days and light winds during my stay. Access from Brisbane was easy and the roads were good and well maintained. There are plenty of good food options and cafes opened early (5:30am near where I was staying) so you can grab a hearty breakfast early and head off for the day to maximise your time in the area. Recommended.

Whale watching full day with morning tea and lunch included. Simply amazing whales. Staff enthusiasm excellent. Took a trip to Maryborough what a gem. Mary Poppins and the street market were great also lots of history. Lovely town

Lots to see & do....or enjoy doing nothing at all. Beautiful bay to walk along, lots of fantastic places to eat at, cafés, clubs, bakeries, restaurants & all different cuisines. A relaxing, peaceful place with a totally unpretentious vibe.

Location is excellent and is why we are return visitors. We sit on the balcony and look at the sea views while enjoying our coffee or wine. Very short walk to hotel and great meals. Short drive along the esplanade with stops along the way for browsing at local stores. Major shopping centre not far away and new complex with Harris Scarfe and Spotlight just opened. Cafe 63 there a bonus.

Our family stayed here overnight before our trip to Lady Elliot Island . The rooms were large, it had a good kitchen . We had no problems at all, It was close to the beach and we would stay there again if we stayed in Hervey Bay.
